Job summary

Nextpower is seeking a Sr. Manager, Facilities in Mesa, Arizona to lead facilities operations for our inverter manufacturing plant.

You will oversee building systems, utilities, maintenance programs, and contractor management to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations supporting high-volume production. The role requires 8+ years in facilities/industrial operations with leadership experience, and a strong background in plant utilities, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Construction Management, Industrial Technology, or related field.
  • 8+ years in facilities, plant maintenance, or industrial operations with at least 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Experience supporting a manufacturing/industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of plant utilities, building systems, maintenance practices, and contractor management.
  • Experience managing facilities budgets, maintenance programs, vendors, and capital projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day facilities operations for an inverter manufacturing plant, including building systems, plant utilities, site services, and facility maintenance.
  • Ensure reliable operation of critical infrastructure: electrical distribution, HVAC, compressed air, water systems, fire protection, security, and other utilities.
  • Develop and manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs for facility assets and infrastructure.
  • Support production uptime by rapid response to facility-related issues impacting manufacturing operations.
  • Manage facility budgets, operating expenses, service contracts, spare parts, and capital improvement projects.
  • Lead, develop, and manage facilities technicians, maintenance personnel, contractors, and third-party providers.
  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineering and Operations on plant layout changes, equipment installations, and capacity ramp-up projects.
  • Support EHS by maintaining facility compliance with safety, environmental, fire, and building code requirements.
  • Coordinate with authorities, inspectors, utilities, landlords, and external agencies as needed.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to energy efficiency, maintenance, plant reliability, and cost control.

Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Sr. Manager, Facilities to lead facilities operations for our inverter manufacturing plant in Mesa, Arizona. This role is responsible for ensuring that the site infrastructure, building systems, utilities, maintenance programs, and facility services operate safely, reliably, and efficiently to support high-volume manufacturing. The Sr. Manager, Facilities will oversee plant facilities, maintenance activities, vendor and contractor management, facility upgrades, regulatory compliance support, and site readiness for production ramp-up. This role will work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, EHS, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations leadership to ensure the facility supports production uptime, capacity expansion, safety, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead day-to-day facilities operations for an inverter manufacturing plant, including building systems, plant utilities, site services, and facility maintenance.

  • Manage facility budgets, operating expenses, service contracts, spare parts, and capital improvement projects.
  • Lead, develop, and manage facilities technicians, maintenance personnel, contractors, and third-party service providers.
  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineering and Operations teams on plant layout changes, equipment installations, production line expansions, and capacity ramp-up projects.
  • Support EHS programs by maintaining facility compliance with applicable safety, environmental, fire, and building code requirements.
  • Coordinate with local authorities, inspectors, utilities, landlords, and external agencies as needed.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to energy efficiency, maintenance effectiveness, plant reliability, workplace safety, and cost control.
  • Establish facilities KPIs and reporting mechanisms for uptime, maintenance performance, work orders, safety, cost, and project execution.
  • Support emergency response planning, business continuity, and site security requirements.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, well-maintained, and production-ready facility environment.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Construction Management, Industrial Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 8+ years of experience in facilities, plant maintenance, or industrial operations, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Experience supporting a manufacturing, industrial, electronics, automotive, power equipment, or high-volume production environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of plant utilities, building systems, maintenance practices, and contractor management.
  • Experience managing facilities budgets, maintenance programs, vendors, and capital projects.
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety, regulatory compliance, building codes, fire protection, and environmental requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and respond effectively to urgent production or facility issues.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with operations, engineering, EHS, quality, and supply chain teams.
  • Proficiency with CMMS, work order systems, Microsoft Office, and facilities reporting tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in inverter, power electronics, battery energy storage, solar, semiconductor, electronics manufacturing, or automotive manufacturing.
  • Experience supporting a new factory launch, production ramp-up, or major facility expansion.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, TPM, 5S, and reliability-centered maintenance practices.
  • Experience managing utility infrastructure for power electronics or electrical equipment manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with OSHA, NFPA, NEC, local Arizona building codes, and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Professional certifications such as CFM, FMP, PMP, OSHA 30, or similar are a plus.
