Job summary

American Airlines in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a Senior Facilities Project Manager to lead space planning and manage large-scale campus projects. You will coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to define scope, budgets and schedules, ensuring alignment with corporate goals.

The role emphasizes strategic facility planning, contract management, and guiding architectural/engineering teams through design and construction phases. Travel is limited.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or Construction Management or equivalent experience/training.
• 10+ years of demonstrated experience in design, planning, development, and management of facility construction projects including master plan projects.
• Licensed Architect or Interior Designer in the state of Texas.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the space planning and space management for a 3 million sq ft corporate campus including the management of the space planning data base.
• Development of project scope and/or definition documents.
• Proactively works with internal departments and external stakeholders to establish project program.
• Development and management of tactical and strategic facility plans.
• Oversees procurement processes and construction contracts.

• This job is a member of the Airport Affairs & Facilities Team within the Corporate Affairs Division.
• Responsible for overseeing and managing the design and construction of corporate facilities at the Fort Worth based campus. This person will also be assisting in managing and overseeing the hospitality complex already underway on the campus. The position is responsible for space planning across all campus properties.

What you'll do

• Responsible for the space planning and space management for a 3 million sq ft. corporate campus including the management of the space planning data base
• Development of project scope and/or definition documents
• Proactively works with all internal departments and external Stakeholders to establish project program
• Development and management of tactical and strategic facility plans
• Assists in selection of leased real estate as needed
• Preparation and management of procurement process for projects
• Development and management of internal funding documents and consultant and contractor contracts
• Development and management of project estimates, budgets and schedules, including construction phases
• Oversees development of design and construction documents
• Oversees furniture selections and specifications
• Responsible for the technical direction of project architects, engineers and consultants involved in assigned projects to ensure that all program requirements are meet within budget and time constraints
• Oversees construction
• Provides written and verbal project status reports
• Represents the best interest of the company at public meetings regarding departmental affairs
• Manages direct reports
• Limited travel is expected

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or Construction Management or equivalent experience/training
• 10+ years of demonstrated experience in design, planning, development, and management of facility construction projects including master plan projects
• Prior experience in construction or facilities development
• Licensed Architect or Interior Designer in the state of Texas

• Working knowledge of architectural and engineering construction documents, contracts, and commercial real estate
• Ability to think strategically
• Understand the business need for each project and make ongoing decisions bacased on the best results for the company
• Consistently able to anticipate upcoming problems and therby avoid them to preserve the project's intent, schedule, and budget
• Capable of handling larger and complex projects requiring multi-phasing and/or fast tracking
• Must be ablek to work with diverse user groups
• Ability to successfully manage direct reports
• TSA Regulations require a fingerprint-based criminal history records check, which must be completed prior to any individual assuming this position. The successful candidate must also clear an internal background review prior to assuming this position.
