The Role
Moderna is looking for a strong candidate to support the Contract Operations Team. This role will play a key part in ensuring accurate and timely implementation of Market Access contracts and payments while leading improvements to processes and collaboration across teams.


The Senior Manager, Market Access Contract Operations will work closely with Moderna’s US Commercial organization and external partners to manage contract-related activities. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, solutions-driven, and able to balance strategic thinking with operational excellence. This role requires adaptability to support a growing portfolio, a focus on compliance, and a commitment to achieving Moderna’s goals.


Here’s What You’ll Do

  • Oversee accurate and timely payments for Chargebacks, Admin Fees, Rebates, and Distribution Fees, and ensure effective resolution of any disputes in partnership with internal teams and external Wholesaler partners.
  • Manage the Chargeback and Rebate process by holding outsourced service providers accountable for delivering high-quality results and meeting company standards.
  • Identify and resolve issues related to Pricing, Membership, Chargebacks, and Rebates, while continuously improving processes and relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Build strong collaboration with internal teams (Commercial Operations, Finance, Digital, and Sales) and external partners (Wholesalers/Distributors and Contract Owners) to ensure smooth workflows and transparency.
  • Lead the creation and reporting of dashboards, trends, and payment activities, providing insights that drive better decisions and improve performance.
  • Ensure all SOX controls are met and documented, and provide support for audits and compliance initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement by streamlining contracting processes and enhancing operational efficiency to meet stakeholder needs.

Here’s What You’ll Need (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in contract management, pricing, or Market Access in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
  • Knowledge of contract administration systems and processes, including Chargebacks, Rebates, and Membership management.
  • Experience managing outsourced service providers and driving accountability for results.

  • Strong understanding of U.S. pharmaceutical market dynamics, including pricing, reimbursement, and contracting.
  • Proficiency in developing, negotiating, and managing contracts to meet business needs.
  • Familiarity with SOX compliance and contract governance processes.
  • Leadership and Collaboration Skills:
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and hold external partners accountable for outcomes.
  • Proven track record in driving process improvements and creating innovative solutions to operational challenges.
  • Experience building strong relationships across teams to align priorities and achieve goals.
  • Problem-Solving and Communication:
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate challenges and develop effective solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly.
  • Confidence in negotiating and influencing outcomes with internal and external stakeholders.

  • This role is expected to be in office 70% of the time with flexibility to work from home up to 30%.
