Description

The Cloud Infrastructure team, as part of Apple Services Engineering, is seeking an extraordinary EPM manager to lead a team and program that delivers innovative product solutions which shape the future of Apple’s Data Platform. This leadership role requires you to build trust and persistently remove ambiguity by seeking to reduce complexity. This role is pivotal in developing a broad organizational perspective and requires facilitation and execution on strategic decisions as well as having a pulse on what is happening in the industry. Additionally, this leadership role supports the development of process improvement and standard operating procedures, in order to achieve required maturity and effectiveness, all while leading and growing a team of extraordinary Engineering Program Managers. You'll partner with a diverse set of teams across Apple to develop the platform that powers analytics and ML engineering for Siri, Search, and other ML features we all love in our Apple products. Building and managing relationships with diverse sets of engineering teams will be critical to ensure collective success. Your work will be incredibly important to maintain and improve Apple’s most critical cloud services.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience managing Engineering Program Managers and leading highly efficient and impactful teams.
  • 10+ years proven experience in software development program management for cloud infrastructure platforms and technologies.
  • Technical proficiency with ML infrastructure, frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow, Jupyter notebooks, Spark, Trino, Flink, SQL, Python, and other advanced analytical tools.
  • A history of leadership, decision making, negotiation skills, and ability to influence partners without direct authority.
  • Proven track record not just in delivering programs, but also in defining, owning, and driving new strategic initiatives across an organization.
  • High-level of technical competency and experience collaborating directly with highly technical teams.
  • Able to interact with large developer communities and large internal customer teams, gathering input on evolving needs, and sharing both needs and project status with senior leaders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong relationship management and facilitation skills both within diverse engineering teams and cross functional organizations.
  • Outstanding presentation skills, both written and oral, including the ability to convey complex requirements in a clear, concise and credible manner.
  • Highly driven, results-oriented, problem solver who will drive programs to deliver value quickly to our customers.

  • Proven self-starter, who is dedicated and demonstrates creative and critical thinking abilities.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $200,400 and $301,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You’ll also receive benefits including: Comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and for formal education related to advancing your career at Apple, reimbursement for certain educational expenses — including tuition.
