Job description

Your Opportunity

The Sr. Manager, Clinical Innovation advances that mission directly: this high-impact position will own launching and managing new clinical programs that enhance patient outcomes, improve care coordination, and meet financial performance targets. You will drive a small portfolio of concurrent programs from concept to launch.

As “Founder & CEO” of these programs, you will own concept and business case development, buy‑vs‑build determination, execution model design and implementation, and management through transition to scaled operations. You will work in close partnership with the Clinical Services and Performance, Product & Engineering, Market Leadership, Analytics, Legal, and Finance teams. This is a role where creativity and initiative are valued and rewarded. You will be held accountable to program KPIs and targets, with the understanding that setbacks and pivots are part of innovation.

The Sr. Manager, Clinical Innovation will report to the VP of Clinical Innovation and sit within the VBC business unit, which is responsible for P&L performance of all VBC activities at Vytalize.

The ideal candidate is a “strategic operator” capable of switching between 30K feet and day‑to‑day task management, and thrives in unstructured, ambiguous, and rapidly changing environments. This requires strong business acumen, exceptional problem‑solving skills, a strong work ethic, a high degree of intellectual horsepower, and a passion for improving healthcare delivery through innovation, technology, and operational excellence. You reason from first principles and learn unfamiliar domains quickly. You see programs as systems — interacting clinical, financial, operational, and technology levers rather than isolated workstreams. As Vytalize’s programs increasingly blend with technology products, this role requires comfort operating at the intersection of clinical operations and product development. The ability to rapidly ascend the AI learning curve is table stakes.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Program Leadership
  • Lead strategy, oversight, and performance management of a portfolio of enterprise initiatives

  • Facilitate concept vetting and development sessions, synthesize and drive actions/follow ups.

  • Drive stakeholder alignment and executive decision‑making.

  • Build rollout and adoption plans for new programs, including stakeholder communications, training materials, go‑live support, and post‑launch feedback loops.

  • Develop and communicate business requirements with cross‑functional internal stakeholders

  • Manage day‑to‑day project tasks, driving execution of business priorities, and providing clear, ongoing communication on status, risks, and dependencies.

  • Maintain project/product roadmaps, tracking tools, and governance structures

  • Prepare status update templates and reports for internal and external communications, including Monthly Business Reviews, ACO Board report outs, and Board decks.

Change Management/Operational Excellence
  • Develop initiative playbooks, communication plans, and change management strategies.

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and business outcomes.

  • Identify opportunities to improve, scale, and optimize programs and operational processes

  • Drive process improvement and organizational effectiveness initiatives.

Analysis
  • Analyze data from a variety of sources, including large and complex clinical, operational, financial, and business datasets, to support strategy and programmatic decisions and recommendations.

  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations.

  • Develop operational, financial, forecasting, and scenario models to support strategic decision‑making.

  • Build compelling executive presentations and business cases.

Vendor Management
  • Serve as primary point of contact for vendors across the Clinical Innovation portfolio.

  • Monitor vendor performance against contracted KPIs and SLAs; maintain scorecards and run recurring performance reviews.

  • Support contracting and renewal activity — document scope, statements of work, KPIs/SLAs, and payment structures; partner with Legal, Finance, and Compliance through review cycles.

  • Manage vendor onboarding and offboarding, including implementation planning, access and compliance requirements, and transition of in‑flight work.

  • Track and escape vendor risk; validate invoices against delivery and ensure timely payment processing.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience managing large-scale, complex programs and projects within a healthcare context.

  • Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities, including financial modeling, forecasting, KPI development, business case creation, and scenario modeling.

  • Effective communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Hands‑on vendor management experience: administering executed agreements, monitoring SLA performance, and managing vendor relationships operationally.

  • Experience applying AI, automation, predictive analytics, or emerging technologies to solve business challenges and improve operational performance.

Skills & Competencies
  • Practical proficiency with LLM‑based AI tools for documentation, synthesis, and analysis acceleration.
