Job summary

Abbott Park, IL-based Sr Manager Category Procurement is seeking an experienced leader to drive end-to-end category strategies for Software and Services, partnering with global teams to optimize spend and supplier performance.

The role requires 7–10 years in procurement, strong negotiation and governance, and a track record in leading cross-functional programs that deliver measurable business impact in a multinational healthcare context. Remote-friendly, with option to work from Abbott Park.

• Some functional experience.
• Good organizational skills, including program/project management governance.
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal) Strong interdisciplinary, intercultural, influence, and networking skills.
• International experience Deep knowledge of markets by regions Experience with Supplier management Ability to develop actionable implementation plans Relevant business process knowledge, as related to Procurement and Category Management.
• Extensive knowledge of category technologies and products.
• Strong influence and negotiating skills.
• Experience leading teams - both with direct staff and indirect project teams.

Education

• BA/BS or equivalent experience required: MBA preferred
• Lead procurement & sourcing activities for Information Technology Category (Software and Services).
• Develops and implements procurement plans and strategies to support business needs
• Lead projects/initiatives that have significant impact upon regional and global business.
• 5-8 years of Procurement and /or deep Category experience.
• Successful, 3+ year track record within procurement and supply chain management
• Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or similar certification desirable
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification desirable.
