Position Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Sr. Manager, Benefits and Compensation to join the firm’s expanding Human Resources department in our Greenville, South Carolina office. The Sr. Manager, Benefits and Compensation is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the firm's benefits and compensation programs. This role ensures compliance with legal regulations and alignment with the firm's objectives to attract, retain, and motivate top talent. The Sr. Manager will lead a team and collaborate with various departments to support employee satisfaction and retention.


Essential Functions

  • Manage and administer the benefits and compensation framework for a large, complex employee group across over 60 locations, ensuring alignment with the firm’s strategic objectives.
  • Execute and maintain on-going comprehensive market analysis and benchmarking studies to establish competitive compensation and benefits packages and provide well-reasoned, strategic recommendations to firm leadership.
  • Oversee the operational management of U. S. employee benefit programs, including group health insurance, defined contribution retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and other perks.
  • Design and manage international benefits and compensation schemes appropriate for the specific market and employee group to ensure competitiveness and regulatory compliance across all firm locations outside of the United States.
  • Ensure all programs comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations (e.g., FLSA, ERISA, ACA).
  • Formulate and revise policies related to compensation and benefits, ensuring clarity and compliance.
  • Leverage compensation and benefits analytics to monitor retention trends and deploy proactive strategies to mitigate turnover.
  • Develop and implement communication strategies to educate and inform employees regarding benefits and compensation.
  • Lead and mentor a team of Benefit and Compensation professionals, providing guidance and support.
  • Facilitate training sessions for HR team and other managers on compensation policies and benefits offerings to enhance comprehension and proper implementation.
  • Oversee relationships with benefits providers and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effective solutions.
  • Other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in benefits and compensation management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, and high emotional intelligence.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively in a high performing, high volume work environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of compensation and benefits regulations and best practices.
  • Proficiency in structuring salary bands, pay scales, and incentive programs.
  • Advanced knowledge of health insurance, retirement plans, wellness programs, and compliance requirements.
  • Advanced knowledge with human resources information systems and compensation tools for data management and analysis.
  • Thorough understanding of laws such as FLSA, ERISA, ACA required; global regulations is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to advise, influence and build credibility at all levels.
  • Demonstrate high attention to detail coupled with advanced critical thinking skills to proficiently analyze complex situations and deliver workable solutions.
