Overview

The Accommodation Sr. Manager will oversee the planning of the accommodation aspects for the LA 2028 Olympic & Paralympic Games. This leadership role manages accommodation selection, negotiation, contracting, and reporting, working closely with Olympic teams, product architecture, operations, and transportation to ensure a high‑quality, efficient environment.

Responsibilities
  • Foster strong relationships with hotels, transportation, other vendors, and services.
  • Identify accommodation needs for the Olympics, including hotel evaluation, selection, contracting, and ongoing relationship management.
  • Negotiate hotel contracts based on specific needs (favorable T&Cs, food and beverage minimums, amenities, etc.).
  • Develop, document, and implement specific event procedures and systems.
  • Provide ongoing client management with internal and external clients, relaying lodging needs across departments.
  • Develop and monitor operational plans to efficiently manage accommodations inventory.
  • Work closely with project leaders to adjust, document, and implement event processes using event management systems.
  • Establish operational accountability (checklists, quality assurance tests, etc.) for the Olympic Accommodation team and share best practices across event teams.
  • Collaborate with the sales team on large group proposals.
  • Analyze current processes and identify opportunities to streamline procedures that directly impact productivity.
  • Attend site inspections and provide accommodation insights and recommendations to clients and the sales team.
Managerial Duties
  • Interview, hire, and train employees.
  • Plan, assign, and direct work for direct reports.
  • Appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems.
Travel

Flexible work and travel schedule is required. Expected travel may range from 15‑25% annually, including 1‑2 months of continuous travel during the Olympic Games, with additional international travel as needed.

Required Qualifications
  • Experience in travel, event, and hospitality industry.
  • Proven negotiation skills with a focus on achieving win‑win results.
  • Strong understanding of the Los Angeles hotel market and its dynamics.
  • Technical expertise to work with event bid documents, hotel RFPs, and hotel contracts.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; collaborative communication at all levels.
  • Fluent in French and English; strong written and presentation skills.
  • Proactive attitude toward client satisfaction and problem resolution.
  • Adaptability to liaise with executives, operational staff, and other teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality, Sports Management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Record of strong personal effectiveness and innovative leadership.
  • Experience with Olympics or large‑scale events.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
Hiring Rate

Annual salary range: $82,500 – $110,000 (minimum stated and subject to local/state thresholds). This figure reflects the prevailing hiring range and may vary based on qualifications.
