Job summary

Benteler is seeking a maintenance supervisor for the Steel/Tube division in Shreveport, LA to lead the maintenance shift and drive reliability across the plant.

You will mentor the maintenance team, coordinate with shift leaders, perform preventative maintenance planning, and ensure compliance with safety and operating standards. Strong SAP and data acquisition experience are essential. This role requires rotating shifts including weekends.

Qualifications

• Two (2) or more years prior experience as a shift supervisor (or equivalent role) is preferred.
• Basic SAP & general computer knowledge is required
• A basic understanding of data acquisition systems such as IBA is preferred
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, of predictive and preventative maintenance
• Advanced knowledge of pumps, hydraulics troubleshooting, pneumatics, valves, cutting welding, and rigging
• Strong safety awareness and experience; Excellent planning and organizational skills
• Ability to organize and explain technical information clearly
• Detail oriented with proven problem identification and resolution skills
• Demonstrated capability of results through people, technology and process
• Ability to work in a Team orientated atmosphere
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, coworkers and management

Responsibilities

• Communicates regularly with operations Shift leaders to identify equipment malfunctions and schedule delay time for repairs
• Demonstrate technical knowledge, skills, and abilities in maintaining Steelmaking machinery
• Ability to work rotating shift schedule including weekends, holidays
• Setup the execution of repairs required to ensure operational equipment availability
• Ensure compliance with all applicable policies and procedures
• Maintain proper and updated training material and ensure continuous training of the assigned employees to support highest performance requirements
• Ensure that team goals are aligned with and representative of the overall company's directive
• Act as liaison between the maintenance team and the operations team
• Initiate and foster a spirit of cooperation within and between departments
• Promote continuous improvement and standardization of maintenance programs and procedures
• Ensure operation of equipment by making sure preventative maintenance is performed in a timely manner and that the equipment is maintained according to specifications
• Work closely and as a team with all employees
• Be responsible for maintaining the organization of your respective maintenance work areas and keep the employees in those areas working efficiently
• Set a positive example for other employees
