Qualifications

• Willingness to support two shifts and occasional after-hours maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Handle maintenance, repair, and diagnostic troubleshooting of production machinery and building systems.
• Identify mechanical failures and perform repairs, adjustments, or overhauls to ensure output.
• Maintain and service production hardware including motors, pumps, valves, and mixers.
• Carry out routine plumbing tasks and non-licensed electrical repairs.
• Minimize downtime by rapid response and root-cause analysis.
• Assist with installation and integration of new equipment and automation systems.
• Manage external service providers to meet maintenance standards.
• Execute scheduled preventive maintenance tasks and manage work orders in CMMS.
• Keep detailed logs of maintenance activities and equipment histories.
• Ensure availability of tools, parts, and materials for maintenance operations.
• Collaborate with operations to prioritize requests and support two-shift operations.

We are looking for a proactive Maintenance Technician II to act as the lead onsite technical expert for our manufacturing and distribution facility. You will be tasked with the upkeep, repair, and diagnostic assessment of both facility infrastructure and production machinery, while also managing preventive maintenance schedules, work order documentation, vendor relations, and various site improvement projects.

We need a dedicated problem solver who thrives on hands-on repair work and takes full responsibility for maintaining operational continuity. You should be adept at working autonomously while collaborating effectively with production teams and external contractors to ensure the facility operates at peak safety and efficiency.

Core Duties

• Handle the maintenance, repair, and diagnostic troubleshooting of all production machinery and building systems.
• Identify mechanical failures and execute necessary repairs, adjustments, or full equipment overhauls to ensure consistent output.
• Maintain and service critical production hardware including mixers, pumps, motors, piping, and valves.
• Execute routine plumbing tasks and perform electrical repairs that do not require specialized licensing.
• Minimize operational downtime by responding rapidly to equipment failures and identifying the root cause of issues.
• Assist with the installation, startup, and integration of new equipment, automation systems, and capital improvement projects.
• Manage external service providers and contractors to ensure facility and equipment maintenance standards are met.
• Execute and assist with all scheduled preventive maintenance tasks.
• Manage the full lifecycle of maintenance tasks by creating, tracking, and finalizing work orders in the CMMS.
• Keep detailed logs of all maintenance activities and equipment service histories.
• Ensure that all necessary tools, spare parts, and materials are stocked and ready for maintenance operations.
• Collaborate with operations staff to prioritize maintenance requests and reduce production interruptions.
• Foster positive working relationships across all shifts, with a specific focus on supporting the second-shift team.
• Proactively suggest improvements to boost equipment reliability, maintenance workflows, and overall facility performance.
• Help maintain a safe working environment for the entire team by adhering to all compliance standards.

Required Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is required; additional technical training, trade school, military experience, or an associate degree is preferred.
• At least 5 years of practical industrial maintenance experience within a chemical, manufacturing, process, or distribution setting.
• Demonstrated expertise in mechanical troubleshooting and complex repair procedures.
• Proven background working with rotating equipment, valves, mixers, pumps, motors, and other production machinery.
• Proficiency in executing preventive maintenance programs and utilizing CMMS or work order management software.
• Ability to interpret complex technical documentation, schematics, and equipment manuals.
• Experience managing relationships with third-party contractors and service vendors.
• Familiarity with SAP PM is considered an asset.
• Strong analytical, communication, and decision-making capabilities.
• Proven ability to function independently within a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
• Physical capacity to lift up to 50 lbs and remain standing for long durations.
• Willingness to maintain a flexible schedule to support a two-shift operation and handle occasional after-hours maintenance needs.
• Bilingual skills in Spanish are a plus.
