Job summary

The Judge Group is seeking a Senior Maintenance Manager for a leading manufacturing operation in Hot Springs, AR. You will oversee equipment reliability, maintenance, facilities engineering, and capital projects in a 24/7 heavy manufacturing environment, driving OEE and safety initiatives.

Responsibilities include directing preventive and predictive maintenance, enforcing OSHA standards, leading a multi-craft team, and managing budgets and spare parts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or equivalent.
• 8–10+ years maintenance experience in heavy manufacturing; 5+ years in senior leadership/manager role.
• Advanced proficiency in heavy mechanical drives, hydraulics/pneumatics, high-voltage power distribution, PLCs/automation, and predictive technologies (vibration analysis, thermography, lubrication analysis).
• Ability to work in high-ambient-temperature settings and sustained high-noise environments with heavy PPE.
• Preferred CMRP, CPMM, or Lean/Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certifications.

Responsibilities

• Direct preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for heavy industrial machinery (furnaces, rolling mills, presses, cranes, hydraulic/pneumatic systems).
• Enforce OSHA standards, hearing conservation, heat-stress mitigation, machine safeguarding, and LOTO procedures.
• Lead, mentor, and upskill a multi-craft technical workforce across shifts.
• Drive CMMS-based KPIs (MTBF, MTTR) for continuous improvement.
• Oversee major equipment overhauls, CapEx installations, and outages from planning to execution.
• Manage maintenance budget and MRO inventory, parts optimization, and vendor/contractor agreements.

Job description

Industry leading manufacturing company in the Hot Springs, AR area is seeking a Senior Maintenance Manager oversees all plant equipment reliability, mechanical and electrical maintenance, facilities engineering, and capital projects within a continuous (24/7) heavy manufacturing operation. Operating in a demanding, high-heat, and high-noise environment, this role is directly responsible for maximizing overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), minimizing unplanned downtime, and cultivating a zero-harm safety culture. The Senior Maintenance Manager leads a multi-craft team of technicians, supervisors, and contractors while managing the departmental operational and capital budgets.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintenance & Reliability Operations: Direct all preventive, predictive (PdM), and corrective maintenance programs for heavy industrial machinery, including furnaces, hot-rolling mills, presses, overhead cranes, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems.

• Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Enforce strict OSHA standards, hearing conservation initiatives, heat-stress mitigation protocols, machine safeguarding, and zero-tolerance Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.

• Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and upskill a multi-craft technical workforce (millwrights, industrial electricians, instrumentation tech, and line supervisors) across multiple shifts.

• Asset Management & CMMS: Drive continuous improvement through the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) by tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR).

• Capital Projects & Outage Management: Oversee major equipment overhauls, capital expenditure (CapEx) installations, and scheduled plant shutdowns/outages from planning to execution.

• Budget & Inventory Control: Manage the maintenance operating budget, MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) inventory, spare parts optimization, and vendor/contractor agreements.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or equivalent combination of technical training and field experience.

• Experience: 8–10+ years of progressive maintenance experience in a heavy manufacturing environment (e.g., steel, foundry, forging, paper, building materials, or heavy chemicals), including at least 5 years in a senior leadership or departmental manager role.

• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in heavy mechanical drives, industrial hydraulics/pneumatics, high-voltage power distribution, PLCs/automation, and predictive technologies (vibration analysis, thermography, lubrication analysis).

• Physical & Environmental Capability: Ability to work comfortably in high-ambient-temperature settings and sustained high-noise environments; comfortable navigating multi-level platforms, cat walks, and industrial spaces wearing required heavy PPE.

• Certifications (Preferred): Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP), Certified Plant Maintenance Manager (CPMM), or Lean/Six Sigma Green/Black Belt.
