Position Purpose
As a Senior Aircraft Maintenance Technician, you will perform aircraft maintenance in compliance with the manufacturer's recommended maintenance program and Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs). You will conduct routine scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, ensuring prompt resolution of Aircraft on Ground (AOG) events. Prioritizing safety, quality, and passenger comfort in all maintenance activities is essential. You will serve as an in-house technical expert, providing guidance and specialized knowledge on aircraft systems and operations. Additionally, you will support aircraft arrivals and departures, including passenger needs. Managing and maintaining ground support equipment and inventory levels at the local site to ensure operational readiness is also a key responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with FAA regulations and aircraft manufacturer's inspection requirements/due intervals (10%)
- Perform maintenance, inspection, and repair on the aircraft, paying close attention to detail and proper documentation of work performed (40%)
- Perform departure and arrival duties, assist passengers with travel needs both on aircraft and limousine/taxi (10%)
- Responsibility for one Aircraft Maintenance Coordination role (10%)
- Participate in the development and facilitation of training programs (10%)
- Fulfill duties of Lead Technician or Lead Inspector in their absence (10%)
- Serve as SME on one model aircraft or advanced avionics (10%)
Reporting Structure
- Reports to: Maintenance Manager
- No direct reports, but provides technical leadership to project work teams, including selecting team members, providing training, and evaluating performance.
Travel Requirements
- Typically less than 10% overnight travel
Physical and Working Conditions
- Requires intermittent physical exertion: walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting heavy or awkward materials or equipment
- Usually in a comfortable environment but with exposure to dust, fumes, or odors
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older
- Legally permitted to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
- FAA A&P License with inspection authorization
- Master Tech Certification in at least one aircraft model
- AET Certification
- At least 10 years of experience in Business Aircraft maintenance
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in aviation or related field
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Effective communication skills
- Leadership training
Education and Experience
- Trade school degree or equivalent in a relevant field
- Minimum 10 years of related work experience
Certifications and Competencies
- Airframe & Power Plant license
- Knowledge of aircraft electronic/avionics systems
- Computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Effective written communication skills
