Job summary

UCLA Health in Santa Monica, CA seeks a licensed Vocational Nurse with IV therapy and blood withdrawal to provide direct patient care in Hematology/Oncology clinics. Qualifications

  • License issued by the CA Board of Vocational Nurse Examiners with IV therapy and blood withdrawal.
  • BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross.
  • Knowledge of instruments and supplies to perform physical examinations and procedures.
  • Ability to take vital signs, administer medications and obtain drug refills as needed.
  • Ability to recognize abnormal laboratory values and report to the physician.
  • Knowledge of symptomatology of common and/or life-threatening medical problems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in maintaining a cooperative working environment with physicians, staff, and health providers.
  • CPR skills.
  • Keyboard literacy to input data in computerized logging systems.
  • Competency in IV skills.
  • Demonstrated punctuality and good attendance.
  • Ability to push/pull/carry minimum 30 pounds.
  • Ability to submit quality work in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care for diverse patient population within Hematology/Oncology community clinics, collaborating with faculty physicians, fellows, residents, nursing and support staff.
  • Interact with physicians, residents, students, and staff to coordinate care and ensure patient safety.

Work Location: Santa Monica, CA, USA

Salary Range: $38.54 - 50.84 Hourly

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

In this role, you will provide direct patient care for diverse patient population within named Hematology/Oncology Community Clinics, working with faculty physicians, fellows, residents, medical students, nursing staff, patient services staff, and ancillary personnel.

Salary range: $38.54/hr - $50.84/hr

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Possess license issued by the State of CA Board of Vocational Nurse Examiners with IV therapy and blood withdrawal.
  • Possession of BLS from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Knowledge of all instruments and supplies to perform physical examinations and/or procedures.
  • Ability to take vital signs, administer medications and obtain drug refills as needed.
  • Ability to recognize abnormal laboratory values and report to the physician.
  • Knowledge of symptomatology of common and or life-threatening medical problems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in maintaining a cooperative working environment with the physicians, staff, and all health providers.
  • Skill to perform CPR.
  • Keyboard literacy skills to access and input data in computerized logging systems.
  • Competency in IV skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to be punctual and maintain good attendance.
  • Ability to push, pull, or carry a minimum of 30 pounds or more.
  • Skill and knowledge to submit quality work in a timely manner.
