Job summary

Peraton is seeking a seasoned Systems Administrator for Linux-based environments in the United States. This role focuses on deployment, patching, software installation, and IAVA documentation to support national security missions.

Required are TS/SCI with polygraph, DoD 8570 compliance, and 15 years of SysAdmin experience. A technical Bachelor's degree with substitution options is accepted. The position offers substantial compensation and benefits.

Responsibilities

Job Description:

• Linux systems deployment and management
• Systems patching and upgrades
• Software installation and configuration
• IAVA patching and documentation creation and maintenance.
• Monitoring and initial troubleshooting of Linux based systems.
• Creating POA&M's as necessary

Highly Desired Skills:

• Minimum of 6 years' recent experience managing Linux based systems
• Experience with AWS environment for managing VPC's, configuring and deploying virtual systems.
• IAVAs STE/STN and system patching
• Experience with Elastic Search functionality
• Knowledge of Network Protocols
• Experienced providing customer support
• Understanding of fundamental networking and distributed computing environment concepts, Linux desktop systems, performance tuning and capacity planning of servers (hardware and software levels)
• Ability to write Shell and Ansible or SALT scripts.
• Write and maintain system technical documentation.
• A self-starter who can work closely with the team but requires little oversight in completing requires SA tasks.

Target Salary Range

$176,000 - $282,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
