Sr. Liability Trial Attorney

Zurich is seeking a Sr. Liability Trial Attorney to join our in-house Staff Legal team. This role involves representing commercial insureds of a reputable insurance carrier by handling high complexity, high exposure General Liability and Commercial Auto personal injury cases.

We prioritize work-life balance and flexibility, offering a hybrid work model that allows employees to work remotely while maintaining in-person collaboration. The position is based in Atlanta, GA, reporting to our Staff Legal Office.

The responsibilities encompass all aspects of insurance defense, including legal analysis, pleadings, research, discovery, hearings, trials, and post-trial activities. The candidate should demonstrate strong case analysis, trial, and negotiation skills, with the ability to work independently and remotely, utilizing video conferencing and digital systems.

Basic Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor and 7+ years of litigation experience
• Active Georgia State Bar membership
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe
• Experience with Lexis or Westlaw
• Knowledge of insurance industry and legal environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• First Chair Jury trial experience
• Experience with insurance claims and commercial litigation, including wrongful death, torts, premises liability, and personal injury
• Strong organizational, analytical, communication skills, and ability to work independently and in teams
• Ability to manage costs and exposure
• Knowledge of legal billing and diary review
• Understanding of staff counsel functions and prior insurance defense experience
• Team-oriented and PC literate

Compensation ranges from $125,000 to $155,000, with a 15% short-term incentive bonus, influenced by location, experience, and skills. Zurich offers comprehensive benefits and encourages diverse applicants.
