Under general supervision responsible for detection, eradication, and prevention of security threats in the NT environment. Consultants review malware and related security events that have been escalated by Tier 1 and Tier -2 Analysts and conduct additional analytics to determine if the event requires additional incident response actions by other parties outside of the NTC3.
Hiring Requirements

Major Duties:

  1. Conducts detailed reviews of malicious software to perform a cyber analysis and gain additional understanding of their threats.
  2. Provides recommendations for defining rules and malware signatures for enhanced detection and mitigation based on analysis.
  3. Conducts cyber intelligence analysis, coordination, and interaction across the network and infrastructure components.
  4. Provides recommendations and steps for eradication of malicious software and system recovery.
  5. Develop new tools or enhance existing tools for advanced detection.
  6. Assists in the incident response function with the analysis of malware and related security incidents as required.

Knowledge:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other IT related field.
  2. Solid understanding of the Cyber Incident Response Process & Life Cycle.
  3. Ability to conduct detailed security event analysis from network traffic attributes and host-based attributes (memory analysis, binary analysis, etc.).
  4. Self-motivated, proactive and able to work independently.
  5. Strong communication skills.

Experience:

  1. Minimum of 7+ years of experience working in an information security monitoring & response role in a large, complex environment.

Salary Range:

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
