Eliassen Group is seeking a Sr. Java Full Stack Engineer to lead the design and development of next-generation electronic trading systems within a high-performing Trade Management Engineering group. Remote role with the opportunity to work on low-latency, distributed architectures and multi-team collaboration.

You will mentor engineers, drive performance improvements, and participate in on-call rotations. The role requires 10+ years of experience and strong knowledge of FIX, CI/CD, and cloud

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on software design and development experience.

Our client seeks a Sr. Java Full Stack Engineer to lead the design and development of next-generation electronic trading systems within a high-performing Trade Management Engineering group. You will architect distributed, event-driven platforms optimized for low latency and high throughput, collaborate across internal and external teams, mentor engineers, and drive platform performance, scalability, and resilience. You will support production and non-production environments and participate in an on-call rotation.

Rate: $70.00 to $80.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:

• Architect and develop distributed, event-driven trading systems optimized for low latency and high throughput.
• Design and implement asynchronous processing frameworks and resilient messaging services.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to deliver robust, end-to-end trading workflows.
• Lead performance tuning and optimization efforts across the platform.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices.
• Support production and non-production environments, including participation in a weekly on-call rotation.

Experience Requirements:

• 10+ years of hands-on software design and development experience.
• Expertise in Java, Python, and Linux.
• Deep experience with low latency messaging systems such as 29West or Kafka.
• Proficiency in KDB+ or other time-series databases.
• Background in building scalable, distributed, asynchronous, and event-driven applications.
• Advanced knowledge of low latency design patterns and performance optimization techniques.
• Experience with Capital Markets or Brokerage systems, especially order management.
• Solid understanding of the FIX protocol and FIX engines.
• Experience with AI developer assist tools such as GitHub Copilot.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub, Maven, Jenkins, Artifactory, and uDeploy.
• Hands-on experience deploying applications to AWS or other cloud platforms.
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and thrive in a collaborative team environment.
• Willingness to support production systems and participate in on-call rotations, including occasional weekend support.
