Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering large‑scale Java applications across multiple implementations.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Java, Spring, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices architecture.
• Experience with relational databases, SQL, stored procedures, and Oracle database replication or performance tuning.
• Experience with Unix/Linux environments and containerized platforms (OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker).
• Experience with CI/CD toolchains (Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Artifactory, Ansible).
• Experience building cloud solutions with strong focus on security and CVE management.

We are seeking an accomplished Senior Java Developer to deliver high-quality technology solutions in the identity and authentication domain. This individual contributor will work with limited supervision, translate business and security requirements into sound technical designs, and own delivery from requirements through production support. The successful candidate brings deep Java engineering experience, secure development discipline, strong problem‑solving skills, and a record of delivering complex software outcomes in an Agile and DevOps environment

Responsibilities

• Own the design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support of secure Java-based features and services.
• Translate product, business, security, and operational requirements into maintainable solution designs aligned with enterprise architecture and engineering standards.
• Design and implement robust REST APIs and microservices using Java and the Spring ecosystem.
• Apply secure coding practices throughout the software development lifecycle and support remediation of vulnerabilities and common vulnerabilities and exposures (CVEs).
• Deliver solutions that meet acceptance criteria while actively managing reliability, maintainability, performance, and technical debt.
• Participate in work breakdown, estimation, technical design reviews, peer code reviews, testing strategy, release planning, and delivery execution.
• Provide technical leadership for large or complex efforts, including platform upgrades, new capability deployments, and production-readiness activities.
• Investigate production issues, coordinate technical response, perform root‑cause analysis, and drive durable corrective actions.
• Support technology controls, compliance activities, evidence collection, and audit requests related to assigned applications and services.
• Mentor engineers, share reusable practices, and identify skill, role, or delivery risks with the Technology Manager.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including delivery of large-scale Java applications across multiple implementations.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Java, Spring, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices architecture.
• Demonstrated expertise in object-oriented design, common design and architectural patterns, clean code, automated testing, and code quality practices.
• Experience with relational databases, SQL, stored procedures, and Oracle database replication or performance tuning.
• Experience developing and operating applications in Unix or Linux environments.
• Experience with containerized platforms and technologies such as OpenShift, Kubernetes, and Docker.
• Experience with CI/CD and engineering toolchains such as Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Artifactory, and Ansible.
• Experience building solutions with cloud services and applying cloud security principles.
• Working knowledge of application security vulnerability remediation, secure software development practices, and CVE management.
• Ability to lead complex technical work, make sound engineering decisions, and deliver in a highly visible, fast‑paced environment with changing priorities.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, written communication, and verbal communication skills.

Desired Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Working knowledge of digital credentials, mobile driver licenses, and digital wallet ecosystems.
• Experience integrating generative AI or large language models into Java applications, including Model Context Protocol (MCP), prompt design, context management, and vector databases.
• Experience with IAM platforms such as PingOne, PingFederate, HYPR, Okta, or ForgeRock.
• Experience with UI development using React or a comparable modern framework.
• Exposure to mobile application development and mobile security considerations.
• Deep experience with application security vulnerability remediation in regulated or high-assurance environments.
