Fortinet IT Systems Engineer - OpenStack

Fortinet is seeking an experienced IT Systems Engineer specializing in OpenStack to join our innovative IT team. This role involves developing, delivering, and maintaining our OpenStack-based private cloud platform and virtualization infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop, deliver, and manage an OpenStack-based private cloud platform, ensuring secure and efficient data handling.
  2. Administer Linux servers (Ubuntu, RedHat, OEL, CentOS) in production environments, maintaining optimal system performance.
  3. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively to minimize disruption and ensure reliability.
  4. Provide technical leadership and documentation, supporting knowledge sharing across teams.
  5. Provide on-call support as needed to address urgent issues and ensure system stability.
  6. Undertake additional responsibilities as required to meet operational needs.

Skills and Experience Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience managing and operating production platforms.
  • Strong understanding of networking, security, system hardware, and infrastructure.
  • Expertise in OpenStack administration and private cloud management.
  • Advanced skills in Linux server administration (Ubuntu, RedHat, OEL, CentOS).
  • Experience with server virtualization technologies (e.g., KVM, VMware).
  • Familiarity with deployment automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Saltstack, custom scripting).
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Bash, Python).
  • Excellent multitasking abilities, with a proven track record of working independently and in teams.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to clearly convey technical concepts.

Educational Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or a technical diploma with relevant work experience.

Wage ranges are based on factors such as labor market, job type, and location, with expected salaries between $85,400 and $110,600. Exact offers depend on experience, qualifications, and geographic factors.
