Software Developer - Systems & CI/CD Engineering

Location: Southern California

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary Range: $100,000 - $140,000 annually (commensurate with experience and qualifications)

Overview:

An established defense contractor is seeking a skilled Software Developer specializing in Systems Software with a strong background in Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines. The ideal candidate will possess over three years of experience in analyzing user needs, developing, creating, and modifying general computer applications software or specialized utility programs aimed at optimizing operational efficiency. This role involves working within a SAFe/Agile environment to deliver high-quality software solutions for a Department of Defense (DoD) program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and manage CI/CD pipelines as directed by Agile methodologies (SAFe, Kanban, Scrum).
  • Establish and automate control gates, builds, and reporting mechanisms.
  • Ensure continuous build, integration, delivery, and deployment of software.
  • Tool Development and Maintenance:
  • Design, develop, install, and upgrade development support tools.
  • Analyze existing tools and recommend solutions for new test tools or upgrades.
  • Automation Implementation:
  • Implement automation within the CI/CD pipeline, including test scripts, cybersecurity scans, and control gates.
  • Maintain base images for development teams, ensuring they include the latest security patches.
  • Document support for base images and monthly updates.
  • Feedback Integration:
  • Facilitate feedback loops within the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Coordinate with development teams to respond to and assist with software product development planning and execution.
  • Analyze and design databases within application areas, working individually or as part of a team.

Qualifications:

  • 3 to 10 years of relevant experience in software development and CI/CD pipeline management.
  • Experience with C++, C#, Microsoft ActiveX; and Python object or component oriented development software
  • Experience with Microsoft and Linux operating systems.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a self-starter.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, SharePoint).

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer or Information Science or a related technical discipline.
  • An additional 6 years of relevant work experience may substitute for a bachelor's degree; or 4 additional years with a relevant associate degree.
