Job summary

Genius Road, LLC is seeking a Sr. IT Project Manager to lead enterprise IT initiatives, including complex deployments across multiple stakeholders. The role is contract-based (12+ months) with hybrid on-site requirements in Austin, TX and a mandate that the candidate be based in Texas.

Responsibilities include chartering projects, managing dependencies, drafting RFPs, and coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure successful transitions to operations.

Qualifications

• PMP certification required.
• Experience leading large IT implementations with multiple stakeholders.
• Vendor and contract management experience.
• Experience managing risk with parallel legacy and new systems; cutover planning.
• Experience developing RFPs and administering vendor contracts.
• Public sector government delivery experience preferred.
• CJIS clearance (or background) required/preferred.
• Ability to coordinate cross-functional and executive-facing communication.

• Develop project charters, scope, schedules, resource plans, and communication plans.
• Manage dependencies and critical path across interconnected systems.
• Write RFPs and oversee vendor contracts, deliverables, and performance.
• Provide executive and stakeholder communication and facilitate project status reviews.
• Support business requirements development and coordinate training and transition activities.
• Lead through influence across departments in a matrixed environment.
• Develop transition and training plans to support handoff to operations.
• Operate with minimal supervision while demonstrating executive presence and delivery discipline.

Sr. IT Project Manager - Everbridge

Employment Type: Contract (12+ months)

Location: Austin, Texas (Hybrid – onsite one day per month)

*Candidate must be based in Texas for consideration

Qualifications/Requirements

• Active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification required
• Proven experience leading large, complex IT implementations involving multiple internal and external stakeholders, not limited to task-level project coordination
• Strong vendor and contract management experience, including oversight of deliverables, schedules, issue escalation, and third-party accountability
• Experience managing risk in environments where legacy and new systems must run in parallel, including cutover planning, rollback strategies, and protecting service continuity for mission-critical operations
• Experience developing RFPs and administering vendor contracts and performance
• Public sector experience strongly preferred, particularly federal, state, county, or city government delivery environments
• Experience with public safety agencies or similarly mission-critical, operationally sensitive environments
• Must be able to obtain CJIS clearance; prior experience in CJIS or similar background-standard environments is especially attractive
• Comfortable operating with significant cross-functional coordination and executive-facing communication in a matrixed organization
