Qualifications

• Monitors project plans, assignments and progress daily.
• Ensures resources are assigned appropriately and escalates issues.
• Tracks key milestones and adjusts plans to meet work needs.
• Leads the project from inception to final acceptance and implementation.
• Mentors other project leads and supports staff development.

Title: Senior IT Project Manager Industry: Insurance Location: Columbia, South Carolina; onsite Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday Contract: 1 year contract-to-hire Job Summary: The Senior IT Project Manager sits on the Commercial Project Management Service team and handles a range of projects across the business areas of the company. Utilizing hybrid-agile techniques, this PM works on a team of 12, focusing on the digital experience and non-host applications of the company.

Responsibilities

• Owns overall coordination, status reporting, and stability of project-oriented work efforts.
• Responsible for multiple work efforts of any size, from minimum complexity system/customer impacts to greater complexity system/customer impacts.
• Adheres to project management processes and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budgeted hours, adheres to high quality standards, and meets expectations
• Monitors project plans, assignments and work efforts on a daily basis.
• Ensures resource needs are assigned appropriately and escalates functional, quality, timeline issues
• Tracks key project milestones and adjusts project plans to meet the needs of work effort.
• Responsible for leading the project from inception to final business acceptance and implementation.
• Mentors other project leads and participates in the training and development of staff.

Requirements

• 5 years IT experience in a leadership capacity, including 2 years of experience leading two or more concurrent project teams
• Software: Microsoft Office, MS Project or Azure Dev Ops
• Excellent communications (verbal and written) skills with assertive yet customer-focused style.
