Job summary

WoodmenLife is seeking a Sr Investment Professional in Omaha, NE to join the Securities Team. This hybrid role supports investment selection, data reporting for financial statements, and audit/compliance activities within a not-for-profit life insurance context.

You will work with systems like PFI, BondEdge, and Bloomberg, contributing to cash flow forecasting and portfolio optimization. A CFA path and ALM knowledge are highly valued, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and teamwork.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in business or finance with 7+ years in fixed income or statutory financial statements
• Understanding of Asset-Liability Management (ALM)
• CFA charter designation or progress toward it
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Access)
• Familiar with PAM for Investments, BondEdge, Bloomberg and online VPNs
• Willingness to work hours to achieve results (early mornings, market open days)

Responsibilities

• Analyze capital markets and assess risk/reward to identify trades for the internally managed portfolio
• Support investment acquisition processes through brokers and electronic platforms
• Evaluate portfolio holdings for regulatory and statutory compliance
• Prepare data for internal/external customers using Investment Accounting systems (PFI), BondEdge and Bloomberg
• Assist in audit processes and reconciliation of financial records
• Prepare data for internal cash flow forecasts
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Job Title: Sr Investment Professional

This position is located in the WoodmenLife Tower in downtown Omaha, NE.

This position has a hybrid 4/1 work schedule.

WoodmenLife is looking to hire a Sr Investment Professional to join our team! In this role, you will be an integral part of the Securities Team. Supports and initiates effective selection of publicly-traded and privately-held investments. Provides key data and reports for accurate financial statement reporting; ensures accurate compliance reporting and analysis; aids in completing audit requests and A.M. Best reporting; and supporting Investment Accounting reporting and/or supporting the preparation of asset and economic data in cash flow forecasting.

Essential Job Functions

• Analyzes capital markets and assesses risk and reward, on a daily basis, to help identify appropriate security purchases or sales for the internally managed investment portfolio.

• Supports the investment acquisition process through brokers and electronic platforms.

• Evaluates portfolio holdings for regulatory and statutory compliance.

• Prepares data for internal and external customers, through the use of a variety of software packages, including State Street Global Exchange's Investment Accounting systems (PFI), BondEdge, and Bloomberg.

• Helps prepare and reconcile internal and external financial records; investigates discrepancies with the financial statement reports

• Collects and prepares data to assist in the audit process of the investment portfolio.

• Collects and prepares data for internal cash flow forecasts.

• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Technical Qualifications

• Ability to work hours needed to achieve business results. This includes but is not limited to working early mornings to ensure trades are completed timely, being available to perform business resumption tests and working days in which the market is open and WoodmenLife is closed.
