Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a procurement professional to own end-to-end supply chain for Power and Cooling Equipment used in AWS data centers. You will manage global supply, partner with engineering and operations, and drive supply strategies to maintain unconstrained delivery.

The role focuses on ensuring continuity of supply, optimizing costs, and collaborating with internal customers and suppliers across the globe to support AWS data center build projects.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of related industry experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 6+ years of supply chain experience.
  • 4+ years experience in electrical, mechanical, infrastructure or data center construction industries.
  • 6+ years experience in supplier performance management in sourcing and/or supply chain with direct ownership of executive-level negotiation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage global supply chain strategies for power and cooling equipment.
  • De-risk supply chain constraints with sustainable long-term strategies.
  • Lead strategic supplier negotiations for capacity at lowest cost structure.

The AIS Power & Cooling team is looking for a results-oriented individual to own supply chain management for Data Center Power & Cooling Equipment. Our Procurement Managers are experts in their industries who deliver the supply that helps drive the explosive growth of AWS.

As a member of the Power and Cooling Procurement Team, you will manage the end-to-end global supply chain for one or more of the categories that reside within the Power and Cooling Equipment space supporting AWS Data Center build projects. This role's primary responsibility is to maintain unconstrained supply on a global scale for the responsible categories and work with our internal customers and business partners to understand demand signals and drive the appropriate supply strategies to deliver continuity of supply. This has to be achieved while enabling procurement with low cost structure and flexibility in adapting to volatile demand.

Key job responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and manages supply chain and sourcing strategies on a global scale for critical tier-2+ sub-components that are needed for complex electrical and mechanical solutions that deliver power to data centers
  • De-risk supply chain constraints through sustainable long-term strategies for critical tier-2+ sub-components
  • Drive the strategic commercial negotiations with suppliers to ascertain capacity with lowest cost structure
  • Develop and maintain supplier capacity modeling both from equipment and on-site commissioning support resourcing perspectives
  • Understand demand inputs and position supply to support unconstrained growth at AWS scale in both the short-term and long-term horizons
  • Engage with global supply chain counterparts to drive leading supply chain practices and initiatives
  • Partner with engineering teams to drive successful new product deployments at scale
  • Drive innovation through the supply chain and influence industry practices
  • Develop analytical reports to deliver information to business partners and stakeholders that support improved decision making
  • Manage supplier lead times and drive them to meet AWS business requirements
  • Manage supplier performance and allocation of material to demands based on priority
  • Be a subject matter expert for the customers, technologies, and markets in which you engage
  • Manage cross-functional projects against plans and objectives to meet commitments and goals
  • Identify and drive realization of opportunities for sustainable, scalable, relative advantage in your category
  • Requires travel up to 15% of the year

Basic Qualifications
  • 6+ years of related industry experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 6+ years of supply chain experience

  • 6+ years experience in supplier performance management in sourcing and/or supply chain with direct ownership of executive-level negotiation
Preferred Qualifications
  • Direct procurement experience in electrical distribution products
  • 3+ years in commercial contract negotiation
  • Direct cross-functional working experience with engineering, construction, operation

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
