Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a results-driven procurement leader to own end-to-end sourcing and supply management for Power & Cooling equipment used in AWS data centers. You will ensure unconstrained supply, collaborate with engineering and business partners, and optimize total cost of ownership on a global scale.

The role requires driving supply strategies, leading cross-functional initiatives, and delivering robust supplier capacity models to support AWS scale and reliability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level.
  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules.
  • Experience presenting to both technical and non-technical executive audiences.
  • Experience leading complex, multi-year initiatives that may be cross-functional and/or span business and technology.

The AIS Power & Cooling team is looking for a results oriented individual to own sourcing and supply management for Data Center Power & Cooling Equipment. As a member of the Power and Cooling Procurement Team, you will manage the end-to-end global sourcing and supply chain for one or more of the categories that reside within the Power and Cooling Equipment space supporting AWS Data Center build projects. The primary responsibility is to maintain unconstrained supply on a global scale for the responsible categories and work with our internal customers and business partners to understand demand signals and drive the appropriate supply strategies to deliver continuity of supply, while enabling procurement with low cost structure and flexibility in adapting to volatile demand.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and manage sourcing and supply chain strategies on a global scale for mission critical complex electrical equipment
  • Drive the category strategies to maximize capacity availability and optimize total cost of ownership
  • Support new product introduction program for mission critical complex electrical equipment to ensure seamless design transition and enable inception-to-scale
  • Develop and maintain supplier capacity modeling
  • Understand demand inputs and position supply to support unconstrained growth at AWS scale in both the short-term and long-term horizons
  • Lead supply chain practices and initiatives
  • Partner with engineering teams to drive NPI initiatives and value - engineering initiatives
  • Drive innovation through the supply chain and influence industry practices
  • Develop analytical reports to deliver information to business partners and stakeholders that support improved decision making
  • Manage supplier lead times and drive them to meet AWS business requirements
  • Manage supplier performance and allocation of material to demands based on priority
  • Be a subject matter expert for the customers, technologies, and markets in which you engage
  • Manage cross functional projects against plans and objectives to meet commitments and goals
  • Identify and drive realization of opportunities for sustainable, scalable, relative advantage in your category
  • Requires travel up to 10% of the year
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
  • Experience presenting to both technical and non-technical executive audiences
  • Experience leading complex, multi - year initiatives that may be cross - functional and/or span business and technology
  • 4+ years experience in electrical, mechanical, infrastructure or data center construction industries
  • 6+ years experience in supplier performance management in sourcing and or supply chain with direct ownership of executive - level negotiation
  • 6+ years experience in commercial and contract negotiation
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in business, data science, public administration, finance, engineering, human resources, or related field, or PMP certificate
  • Direct experience in backup/prime power generation technology procurement
  • Direct experience in program managing new product introduction in a technical field

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign - on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
