Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Procurement Manager to own the end-to-end supply chain for Data Center Power & Cooling equipment and manage supplier performance across global operations.

You will coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure continuity of supply, optimize costs, and drive scalable solutions for AWS data centers. Travel up to 25% may be required, and a strong background in supply chain negotiations is essential.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of related industry experience.
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or related field, or 6+ years of related supply chain experience.
  • 6+ years experience in supplier performance management in sourcing and/or supply chain with direct ownership of executive-level negotiation.
  • 6+ years experience in commercial and contract negotiation.
  • 6+ years experience of end-to-end supply chain management with emphasis on flexibility and scalability.
  • Master's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (Preferred).
  • 10+ years of relevant supply chain and/or sourcing experience (Preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end supplier performance and technician resourcing capacity management for on-site support and commissioning.
  • Be the first line of defense in mitigating testing and commissioning risks.
  • Identify logistics improvement opportunities to drive standardized and scalable delivery and storage of equipment.
  • Collaborate with commissioning and quality engineering to enforce best practices.
  • De-risk supply chain constraints through sustainable long-term strategies for tier-1 and tier-2+ components.
  • Provide oversight of key tier-2 suppliers to ensure ability to support tier-1 commitments.
  • Drive process improvement and automation to support scale of AWS.
  • Engage with global supply chain counterparts to drive best practices.
  • Develop analytical reports for business partners and stakeholders.
  • Manage supplier lead times to meet AWS requirements.
  • Manage cross-functional projects to meet commitments.
  • Requires travel up to 25% of the year.

The AIS Power & Cooling team is looking for a results‑oriented individual to own supply management for Data Center Power & Cooling Equipment. Our Procurement Managers are experts in their industries who deliver the supply that helps drive the explosive growth of AWS.

As a member of the Power and Cooling Procurement Team, you will manage the end‑to‑end global supply chain for one or more of the categories that reside within the Power and Cooling Equipment space supporting AWS Data Center build projects. This role's primary responsibility is to maintain unconstrained supply on a global scale for the responsible categories and work with our internal customers and business partners to understand demand signals and drive the appropriate supply strategies to deliver continuity of supply. This has to be achieved while enabling procurement with low cost structure and flexibility in adapting to volatile demand.

Key job responsibilities
  • Own the end‑to‑end supplier performance and technician resourcing capacity management for on‑site support and commissioning
  • Be the first line of defense in mitigating testing and commissioning risks occurring at the Data Center sites, and convert risks to lessons‑learned to prevent recurrence
  • Identify logistics improvement opportunities to drive standardized and scalable way of delivering and storing mission critical equipment
  • Collaborate with Commissioning and Quality Engineering team to enforce best practices internally and externally so capacity delivery risks are preemptively mitigated
  • De‑risk supply chain constraints through sustainable long‑term strategies for tier‑1 solutions and tier‑2+ critical components
  • Provide oversight of key tier‑2 suppliers to ensure their ability to support our tier‑1 supplier commitments
  • Drive process improvement and automation to support the scale of AWS
  • Engage with global supply chain counterparts to drive leading supply chain practices and initiatives
  • Develop analytical reports to deliver information to business partners and stakeholders that support improved decision making
  • Manage supplier lead times and drive them to meet AWS business requirements
  • Manage cross‑functional projects against plans and objectives to meet commitments and goals
  • Requires travel up to 25% of the year

Basic Qualifications
  • 6+ years of related industry experience
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or related field, or 6+ years of related supply chain experience
  • 6+ years experience in supplier performance management in sourcing and/or supply chain with direct ownership of executive‑level negotiation
  • 6+ years experience in commercial and contract negotiation
  • 6+ years experience of end‑to‑end supply chain management with emphasis on flexibility and scalability
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field
  • 10+ years of relevant supply chain and/or sourcing experience
  • 4+ years experience in electrical, mechanical, infrastructure or data center construction industries
  • Direct experience in backup/prime power generation.
  • Able to model supply chain and sourcing strategies to define cost and performance impacts, trade‑offs, and risks
  • Experience with design and vision‑setting for technology infrastructure investment, providing financial savings in an end to end supply chain
  • Direct responsibility for modeling strategies for a complex supply chain that has experienced an increase in scale and complexity of demand.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
