Job summary

Cox Enterprises is seeking an Inspector in Riverside, California to perform expert vehicle inspections and documentation. You will inspect exterior, interior, and mechanical components, verify VINs, mileage, and sub-series, and ensure compliance with safety procedures.

The role requires attention to detail, basic computer skills, and a valid driver’s license for both manual and automatic transmissions. The position supports a safety-driven, hands-on environment at our facility in California.

Qualifications

• Generally, less than 2 years of experience in a related field.

• Ability to drive both manual and automatic transmission vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough, expert-level vehicle inspections across exterior, interior, and mechanical components.
• Locate, start, move, inspect, and safely return vehicles with proper handling procedures.
• Verify VIN, mileage, and sub-series; record details in the inspection system.
• Inspect and document vehicle condition, equipment, options, damage, and overall condition.
• Apply industry standards, including NAAA Frame/Structure Damage Policy.
• Follow safety procedures and participate in safety programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Locate, start, move, inspect, and safely return vehicles while maintaining proper handling procedures.
• Verify vehicle identification and accurately record details such as VIN, mileage, and sub-series in the inspection system.
• Inspect and document vehicle condition, including equipment, options, damage, missing or inoperable items, and overall exterior and interior condition.
• Apply industry standards, including NAAA Frame/Structure Damage Policy.
• Follow all safety procedures and actively participate in safety programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

• Safe driver's needed; valid driver's license required.
• Basic computer skills.
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
• Ability to drive standard and automatic transmission vehicles.

Preferred

• Must be detail-oriented, accurate, and able to multi-task.
• General knowledge of mechanical and automotive body work.
• Previous body shop, automotive background and mechanical experience.

• Ability to stand, walk, reach, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb.

USD 19.90 - 29.81 per hour

Compensation:

Hourly pay rate is in the range of $19.90 - $29.81/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Benefits:

Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
