Qualifications

• 5+ years of enterprise infrastructure engineering focusing on VMware.
• Hands-on experience with VMware NSX-T and Avi/NSX Advanced Load Balancer.
• Strong TCP/IP, routing (BGP), VLANs, VXLAN/GENEVE, and security understanding.
• Experience with infrastructure automation using PowerCLI, Ansible, Terraform.
• Experience troubleshooting complex VMware, networking, and load-balancing issues.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise VMware vSphere clusters.
• Design and manage VMware NSX-T networking and micro-segmentation.

IDR is seeking a Sr. Infrastructure VMWare Engineer to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Atlanta, Georgia. This role involves designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise-grade virtualization and software-defined data center (SDDC) technologies. The position offers the chance to work with a leading organization in the technology and infrastructure sector.

Position Overview for the Sr. Infrastructure VMWare Engineer:

• Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise VMware vSphere clusters supporting critical workloads.
• Design and manage VMware NSX-T network virtualization, including micro-segmentation, distributed firewalls, NSX Edge services, and overlay networking.
• Deploy and configure VMware Avi / NSX Advanced Load Balancer, including Avi Service Engines, Virtual Services, load balancing, traffic rules, and security policies.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and lifecycle operations using tools such as PowerCLI, Ansible, or Terraform.
• Provide Tier 3 support and troubleshoot complex virtualization, networking, NSX-T, and load-balancing issues.
• Ensure high availability, security, performance, and scalability of enterprise virtualization infrastructure.

Requirements for the Sr. Infrastructure VMWare Engineer:

• 5+ years of experience in enterprise infrastructure engineering with a strong focus on VMware technologies.
• Hands-on experience with VMware NSX-T, including distributed firewalls, micro-segmentation, NSX Edge services, and overlay networking.
• Hands-on experience with VMware Avi / NSX Advanced Load Balancer, including Avi Service Engines, Virtual Services, load balancing, and traffic rules.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing (BGP), VLANs, VXLAN/GENEVE overlay networks, and network security.
• Experience with infrastructure automation using PowerCLI, Ansible, Terraform, or similar tools.
• Experience troubleshooting complex VMware, networking, and load-balancing issues in enterprise environments.
