Job summary

JCB North America seeks a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to lead administration and optimization of our IT infrastructure. You will drive reliability, security, and performance across Windows and Linux servers, virtualization platforms, and storage environments.

The role requires deep expertise in AD, networking, backup, and disaster recovery, with the ability to guide projects, support on‑call rotations, and collaborate with vendors in a fast‑paced enterprise setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of enterprise IT infrastructure experience.
  • Strong expertise in Windows Server administration, virtualization, networking, storage, and DR.
  • Ability to pass background checks and pre-employment tests as required by law.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and support Windows Server and Linux/Unix environments.
  • Manage Active Directory and Group Policy administration.
  • Administer virtualization platforms (VMware and Hyper‑V).
  • Configure and support enterprise storage solutions and disk storage environments.
  • Manage backup and disaster recovery to ensure data integrity and continuity.
  • Monitor and optimize performance across servers, storage, networking, and cloud.
  • Provide Tier III support for critical incidents and coordinate with vendors.

Position Purpose

The Senior Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the administration, support, optimization, and continous improvement of JCB’s IT infrastructure environment. This role serves as a technical expert across multiple infrastructure disciplines, ensuring the reliability, security, performance, and scalability of critical systems while supporting strategic business initiatives and providing advanced technical leadership.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities
  • Administer and support Microsoft Windows Server and Linux/Unix operating systems.
  • Manage Microsoft Active Directory environments, including Group Policy administration.
  • Administer and maintain virtualized infrastructure platforms, including VMware and Hyper‑V.
  • Configure, manage, and support enterprise storage solutions and disk storage environments.
  • Administer and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions, ensuring data integrity and business continuity.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize infrastructure performance across servers, storage, networking, and cloud environments.
  • Provide technical leadership and infrastructure expertise for business and IT projects.
  • Support and maintain network infrastructure, including Cisco Meraki network administration.
  • Create, maintain, and update infrastructure architecture documentation, diagrams, standards, and operating procedures.
  • Provide Tier III support for critical incidents, including participation in on‑call support rotations and after‑hours escalations.
  • Coordinate with third‑party vendors to ensure service and support expectations are met.
  • Support MDF/IDF environments, including racking, stacking, hardware installations, inventory management, and environmental monitoring.
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure environments.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience managing data center, MDF/IDF, and infrastructure hardware environments.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Windows Server administration.
  • Advanced experience supporting virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper‑V.
  • Strong understanding of networking, storage, backup, and disaster recovery technologies.
  • Must pass any drug screens, background checks, and any pre‑employment tests, which will be conducted in accordance with applicable law.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical certifications in Microsoft, VMware, Azure, AWS, Cisco, NetApp, or related infrastructure technologies.
  • Experience managing enterprise cloud platforms including Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.
  • Experience supporting SAP infrastructure environments.
  • Experience with Cohesity, Rubrik, or similar appliance‑based backup technologies.
  • Experience administering Cisco Call Manager, Cisco WebEx, or VoIP technologies.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies
  • Expert‑level proficiency in three or more of the following areas:
