The Migration Sr. Infrastructure Engineer will support the transformation of the U.S. Army’s global wide-area network. This role is responsible for the secure operation, migration, and modernization of virtualized infrastructure and network monitoring environments.

As part of a high-impact engineering team, this position focuses on legacy system discovery, platform modernization (virtualization, containerization), secure systems configuration, and network performance optimization using modern observability tools and automation technologies.

(Overnight Shift 3 nights a week 6pm-6am)

Primary Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain secure network and infrastructure solutions as part of a centralized Army enterprise capability
• Partner with key stakeholders to assess legacy environments and develop migration strategies for Army-wide network systems
• Support the transformation of network monitoring dashboards and ingestion pipelines for performance and operational insights
• Modify and optimize virtualization/container infrastructure for monitoring and management applications
• Leverage tools such as ELK (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) for data visualization and event correlation
• Ensure systems are compliant with DoD cybersecurity requirements, including STIGs and integration with SIEM platforms
• Collaborate with IA teams and the Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP) to ensure ongoing compliance
• Document designs, diagrams, and technical configurations using wikis and visual diagramming tools

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree with 10+ years (experience can substitute for education)
• Experience with:
• Kubernetes and container infrastructure
• Red Hat Linux (RHEL) and Red Hat Satellite
• Virtualization technologies such as VMware, KVM, and VSAN
• ELK stack (Elastic, Logstash, Kibana) for data ingest and visualization
• Network monitoring platforms such as Cisco Prime, Cisco DNA, Junos Space, or Palo Alto Panorama
• Knowledge of Linux systems administration
• Familiarity with STIGs and secure system configuration
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Willingness to work non-standard shifts and travel up to 10% as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with virtualized network appliances or infrastructure
• Hands-on experience with InfoVista or similar performance monitoring solutions
• Knowledge of NetSecOps tools such as:
• Experience with PKI administration and Windows/Dell servers
• Familiarity with U.S. Army security standards and compliance requirements for IT systems
