Job summary

Raytheon is seeking a Sr Industrial Engineer to support the Effectors factories in Tucson, AZ, to maximize throughput and efficiency while delivering value to customers. You will perform labor analyses, process mapping, line balancing, capacity planning and internal improvements in a dynamic defense environment.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement with Six Sigma/Lean methodologies and strategic planning for manufacturing investments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in STEM with 5+ years of relevant experience or a Master’s with 2+ years.
  • Ability to obtain Interim U.S. government issued security clearance prior to start date.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or similar discipline.
  • Experience applying industrial engineering tools such as Lean Manufacturing, Capacity Modeling, Facility Design, or Process Optimization.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain ATF clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Model factory operations with process flows, value stream maps, pareto charts, and CAD drawings to show production processes and KPIs.
  • Calculate resource utilization and identify throughput constraints.
  • Apply Six Sigma and Lean principles to reduce waste and improve cost, quality and on-time delivery.
  • Influence factory roadmaps and investment strategies by drafting improvement proposals and planning new products and equipment integrations.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to execute projects addressing obsolescence and factory performance.
  • Support new production contracts, new product proposals and integration efforts.
  • Improve factory safety and work cell ergonomics.

Raytheon is seeking a Sr Industrial Engineer to support the Effectors portfolio of factories in Tucson, Arizona to maximize throughput, improve efficiency, and deliver increasing value to the customer. Industrial Engineers are responsible for Labor Performance Analyses, Process and Value Stream Mapping, Line Balancing, Capacity Planning, Manpower Planning, Factory Layouts, Factory Simulations, Strategic Planning, Project Management, Continuous Improvement, and more. What You Will Do
  • Model factory operations by generating process flows, value stream maps, pareto charts, spaghetti diagrams, and CAD drawings to graphically show production processes, the movement of material, the exchange of information, and key performance indicators
  • Calculate resource utilization and identify throughput constraints
  • Apply Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles to reduce undesirable effects, improve efficiency, and meet or exceed cost, quality, and on-time delivery goals
  • Influence factory roadmaps and investment strategies by drafting infrastructure improvement and expansion proposals, and planning the integration of new products, technologies, and equipment that create a competitive advantage
  • Work with cross-functional teams to execute projects that address obsolescence, improve factory performance, and promote growth
  • Support new production contract/new product proposals and new product integration efforts
  • Improve factory safety and work cell ergonomics

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations OR an applicable Master’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or similar engineering discipline
  • Experience in the application of industrial engineering tools and methodologies, such as Lean Manufacturing, Capacity Modeling, Facility Design, or Process Optimization
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) clearance

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
