Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
  • 5+ years (or 2 years with Master’s) of relevant experience.
  • Ability to obtain interim U.S. government clearance prior to start.
  • Degree in Industrial/Systems/Manufacturing Engineering or similar.
  • Experience with Lean, Capacity Modeling, Facility Design, or Process Optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Support factory leadership and cross-functional partners to advance Lean Transformation initiatives.
  • Partner with Factory and Program Industrial Engineers to create predictable manufacturing systems.
  • Analyze system performance to identify improvements and bottlenecks.

Raytheon is seeking a Senior Area Transformation Industrial Engineer to support production within the Effectors portfolio of factories in Tucson, AZ to maximize throughput, improve efficiency, and deliver increasing value to the customer. Industrial Engineers are responsible for Labor Performance Analyses, Process and Value Stream Mapping, Line Balancing, Capacity Planning, Manpower Planning, Factory Layouts, Factory Simulations, Strategic Planning, Project Management, Continuous Improvement, and more. What You Will Do


  • Responsibilities will focus primarily on supporting factory leadership, Strategic Business Unit partners, and peer organizations to advance Lean Transformation initiatives, identify strategic investment opportunities and lead critical projects benefiting the make centers:

  • Partner closely with Factory Industrial Engineers and Program Industrial Engineers to create predictable manufacturing systems.

  • Analyze manufacturing system performance to identify undesirable effects and opportunities for improvement.

  • Calculate resource utilization and identify throughput constraints.

  • Apply Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles to eliminate constraints, improve efficiency, and meet or exceed cost, quality, and on-time delivery goals.

  • Create process flows, value stream maps, pareto charts, spaghetti diagrams, and CAD drawings to graphically show manufacturing processes, the movement of material, the exchange of information, and key metrics.

  • Contribute to strategic roadmaps focused on factory capacity, Manufacturing Technology insertion, infrastructure improvements, obsolescence mitigation, and the integration of new capabilities.

  • Partner with project managers and factory support functions to improve modify the factory footprint and layout of factory equipment as needed.

  • Support program contract proposals, business case development for future investments, supplier assessments, and Make/Buy/Where analyses.

Qualifications You Must Have


  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations OR an applicable Master’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.

  • Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or similar engineering discipline

  • Experience in the application of industrial engineering tools and methodologies, such as Lean Manufacturing, Capacity Modeling, Facility Design, or Process Optimization

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) clearance



Qualifications We Prefer


  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Experience/Education with factory layout and work cell design/optimization

  • Experience/Education with simulation modeling and capacity analysis tools/methods

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
