Job summary

Raytheon is seeking a Sr Industrial Engineer in Tucson, AZ to maximize throughput, improve efficiency, and deliver greater value to customers. You will model operations, perform capacity planning, and lead Lean and Six Sigma initiatives across factories.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams on new product introductions, safety improvements, and capacity expansion while aligning roadmaps with strategic goals.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a STEM degree and 5+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s with 2+ years.
  • Ability to obtain interim U.S. government clearance prior to start date.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Industrial/Systems/Manufacturing Engineering or similar.
  • Experience applying Lean, capacity modeling, facility design or process optimization.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain ATF clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Model factory operations with process flows, value streams, pareto charts, and CAD drawings to show processes and KPIs.
  • Calculate resource utilization and identify throughput constraints.
  • Apply Six Sigma and Lean to reduce waste and meet cost, quality, and on-time goals.
  • Draft infrastructure improvements and expansion plans for new products and equipment to gain competitive advantage.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to address obsolescence and improve factory performance.
  • Support new production contracts and product integration efforts.
  • Improve factory safety and work cell ergonomics.

Raytheon is seeking a Sr Industrial Engineer to support the Effectors portfolio of factories in Tucson, Arizona to maximize throughput, improve efficiency, and deliver increasing value to the customer. Industrial Engineers are responsible for Labor Performance Analyses, Process and Value Stream Mapping, Line Balancing, Capacity Planning, Manpower Planning, Factory Layouts, Factory Simulations, Strategic Planning, Project Management, Continuous Improvement, and more. What You Will Do
  • Model factory operations by generating process flows, value stream maps, pareto charts, spaghetti diagrams, and CAD drawings to graphically show production processes, the movement of material, the exchange of information, and key performance indicators
  • Calculate resource utilization and identify throughput constraints
  • Apply Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles to reduce undesirable effects, improve efficiency, and meet or exceed cost, quality, and on-time delivery goals
  • Influence factory roadmaps and investment strategies by drafting infrastructure improvement and expansion proposals, and planning the integration of new products, technologies, and equipment that create a competitive advantage
  • Work with cross-functional teams to execute projects that address obsolescence, improve factory performance, and promote growth
  • Support new production contract/new product proposals and new product integration efforts
  • Improve factory safety and work cell ergonomics

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations OR an applicable Master’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or similar engineering discipline
  • Experience in the application of industrial engineering tools and methodologies, such as Lean Manufacturing, Capacity Modeling, Facility Design, or Process Optimization
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) clearance

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
