Sr. IAM Engineer

Our client is undergoing a major transformation, shifting from traditional IT toward a modern digital ecosystem. As part of this journey, they’ve established a new Identity and Access Management (IAM) team within their cybersecurity group. This is a unique opportunity to join early, influence the direction of the initiative, and work on a mission-critical migration to a cloud-native identity governance platform. You’ll partner across technical and business teams to drive automation, scalability, and compliance in the IAM space—making a tangible impact from day one.

• Location: Remote
• Compensation: This job is expected to pay about $70-75/hour
• No Visa Sponsorship Available for this role

What You’ll Do:

• Migrate identity governance processes and applications from IBM Tivoli to Okta Identity Governance (OIG), including lifecycle management and access certification workflows.
• Design and implement IAM solutions using Java, Python, REST APIs, and relational databases, integrating with enterprise systems and cloud environments.
• Develop and maintain Okta connectors, workflows, provisioning tasks, and custom automations to support business processes.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and support infrastructure-as-code practices across AWS or Azure.
• Partner with IT, security, and business stakeholders to ensure IAM solutions align with organizational goals and compliance requirements.

What Gets You the Job:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, with a minimum of 6 years of overall IT experience
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM) security roles, with strong knowledge of access controls and governance frameworks.
• Proficient in Java and Python with 5+ years of experience developing secure, maintainable code and building RESTful web services.
• Solid understanding of relational databases, including stored procedures, and 2+ years working with Snowflake.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting Okta Identity Governance (OIG), including user provisioning, access requests, and workflow integrations.
• Comfortable working in AWS or Azure environments, with exposure to CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
• Familiarity with Git-based version control systems and change management processes.
• Working knowledge of Active Directory and Virtual Directory Services (VDS).
