Job summary

St. Louis Children's Hospital is seeking a senior HVAC employee to join our award-winning team. The role focuses on installing, maintaining, and repairing facility HVAC, refrigeration, medical gas, and fire protection systems across the hospital.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, code compliance, and operating building automation systems. Requires 2–5 years of experience and a Universal EPA license. Schedule is Mon-Fri (6:45 AM–3:15 PM) in a full-time on-site role.

Qualifications

  • Associate or trade school equivalent required.
  • 2–5 years of HVAC experience.
  • Universal EPA license.

Responsibilities

  • Keeps equipment clean and operational. Handles and disposes of hazardous and or infectious waste properly and practices infection control. Adheres to regulatory guidelines.
  • Repairs and maintains all aspects of the facility's heating, ventilation and air conditioning, medical gas, fluid equipment distribution and fire protection systems.
  • Performs routine preventative and predictive maintenance on assigned systems and equipment including calibration, alignment, and balancing.
  • Ensures all completed assignments meet all applicable code requirements.
  • Operates building automation system and makes modifications and additions to the system as required.

Preferred Qualifications
Role Purpose

Install, maintain, and repair various facility HVAC, refrigeration, and specialty systems such as medical gas and fire protection systems including distribution piping and electro‑mechanical equipment and devices. Accomplishes the most difficult repairs and overhauls on any of the mechanical equipment in any facility in the system.
