Qualifications

  • EPA Refrigeration Certification is required.
  • Knowledge of various HVAC systems and static pressure.

What this job involves

The Sr. HVAC-R Technician will focus on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing Commercial HVAC, Refrigeration, and some Chiller PM work. A significant portion of your time will be hands-on work. You should demonstrate high technical expertise in HVACR and Chiller preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. Availability for call-in work and other duties is required. You must be able to diagnose and repair issues promptly.

Work Schedule

This position is on 2nd Shift, Monday-Friday, 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM, with on-call responsibilities.

Daily Responsibilities
  • Maintain HVACR and Chiller equipment safely and professionally.
  • Analyze system data and recommend maintenance, upgrades, or replacements in collaboration with the Chief Engineer.
  • Update and improve preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Keep detailed system documentation for all repairs and modifications.
  • Monitor and adjust systems such as chillers, refrigeration, HVAC, and related equipment.
  • Record readings and make necessary adjustments for optimal operation.
  • Utilize the CMMS system for work orders and communicate clearly when closing them out.
  • Assist in updating and creating HVAC SOPs as needed.
  • Troubleshoot system malfunctions and perform corrective actions.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, ensuring minimal disruption and proper cleanup.
  • Report equipment issues and supply shortages to the Chief Engineer.
  • Follow safety policies for hazardous materials and refrigerants, maintaining EPA documentation.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Experience and Skills

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • EPA Refrigeration Certification
  • Knowledge of static pressure and VFDs
  • Understanding of various HVAC systems
  • Ability to lift and pull up to 50 lbs
  • Climbing ability and ladder use
  • Knowledge of ALC software is a plus
  • Forward-thinking and effective communication skills
Additional Information

Estimated annual total compensation: $50,000 - $80,000. Compensation is an estimate and varies based on multiple factors. The position is on-site in Woodland, CA.
