If you’re a hands-on, commercial HVAC construction professional, then consider this Senior HVAC Project Manager position! You’ll primarily focus on technical leadership and project delivery, leading by example and serving as a go-to resource and mentor for the project management and field teams.
Responsibilities of the Senior HVAC Project Manager
- Manage multiple complex, high-value, or high-risk commercial HVAC construction projects from project turnover through final closeout
- Review project documentation to develop a complete understanding of scope, requirements, and objectives
- Lead project kickoff meetings and maintain overall project responsibility
- Monitor costs, productivity, and schedules; proactively identify and resolve risks that may impact project success
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget
- Mentor and coach project team members, help onboard new hires, and share lessons learned and best practices to help standardize and optimize project delivery
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with owners, general contractors, engineers, architects, subcontractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders
- Ensure all project documentation is accurate, organized, and current
- Promote and reinforce the company's commitment to safety, quality workmanship, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement
- Ensure regulatory compliance
Qualifications of the Senior HVAC Project Manager
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience
- 10+ years of commercial HVAC or mechanical construction project management experience, with a demonstrated track record of longevity and steady growth in the trade
- Deep, hands-on knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, piping, sheet metal, controls, and mechanical construction practices
- Proven ability to successfully manage multiple large, complex commercial HVAC construction projects simultaneously
- Prior mentorship/training/guidance for less experienced Project Managers or Project Engineers strongly preferred
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification preferred
- EPA Section 608 Certification (or working knowledge of refrigerant handling compliance) preferred
- Strong understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, procurement, contract administration, and financial management
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.

- Excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction/project management software; experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar platforms preferred
