Job summary

The University of Miami/UHealth department of Facilities invites applications for a Full Time Sr. HVAC Mechanic at the UHealth Medical Campus.

The role involves inspecting, repairing, and maintaining HVAC systems to ensure uninterrupted facility operations, along with logging activities and maintaining safe work areas. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent with at least 4 years of experience, a valid Miami-Dade County license, and a Florida driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent/relevant experience, certification or license.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience required.
• Valid license from Miami Dade County.
• Valid State of Florida Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, repairs, installs, modifies, and maintains HVAC systems, circuits, and equipment to ensure operations run smoothly and uninterrupted.
• Maintains work areas and equipment rooms in a clean and safe condition at all times.
• Receives and responds to requests for repair work.
• Keeps daily logs of work, performed and pending, updated.
• Cleans, maintains, and paints equipment and machinery to prevent deterioration.
• Repairs plumbing and leaky equipment on roofs and ceilings.
• Advises appropriate managing staff of risk factors and repair needs beyond the mechanic’s ability.
• Prepares and maintains accurate records of equipment and facility preventative maintenance.
• Tests and evaluates equipment performance using appropriate tools.
• Inspects air conditioning and heating systems and performs general maintenance of work systems.
• Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
