Job summary

The Crescent Hotels Group seeks a full-time Sr. HVAC Engineer for The Hilton Phoenix Resort at the Peak. You will ensure smooth operation of resort HVAC systems and guest comfort, including outdoor environments, while maintaining safety and efficiency.

Key responsibilities include preventive maintenance on walk-ins, freezers and air systems, and timely response to outages. English communication and independent, proactive work style are required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 2 years of HVAC mechanic experience in a complex facility.
  • EPA Certification Universal type preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, monitor, repair and execute preventive maintenance on resort HVAC systems and related equipment.
  • Support guest satisfaction by ensuring smooth operation of HVAC and related facilities.
  • Assist with shut-off and start-up of utilities and building systems as needed.
  • Follow safety procedures and OSHA standards while using tools and equipment.

Sr. HVAC Engineer takes part in ensuring that all operations of the Resort HVAC systems, along with servicing our guests around our beautiful Resort run smoothly. This task is to be handled in a friendly, courteous, timely, and professional manner resulting in an extremely high level of guest satisfaction. To maintain, monitor, repair and carry out the preventive maintenance programs on Resort heating, ventilation, walk-in coolers, freezers, reach in, and air conditioning equipment.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the resort. The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • To assist with requests to shut-off , and turn on utilities and building systems
  • Assist in monitoring and maintenance of stand pipe, sprinkler and interior fire alarm systems
  • Change filters on HVAC ,and cleaning fan coil units
  • Good knowledge of low temp
  • Due to the cyclical nature of our business, other duties and special projects that may be assigned.
  • Considerable knowledge of HVAC systems including repair and maintenance and basic electric and plumbing skills, including diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems.
  • Understanding/advance principles of walk-in coolers/freezers/reach-in.
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards for chemical use and follow operational and safety procedures.
  • Skills in the uses of hand and power tools, electrical testing meters, and standard tools of the trade.
  • Basic English language communication skills in order to communicate with customers and co-workers fully understand job assignments and follow manufacturer instructions
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

EDUCATION: High school graduate or equivalent required.

EXPERIENCE: At least 2 years’ experience as a HVAC mechanic in a complex facility.

LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES: EPA Certification Universal type preferred

Must have the ability to communicate in English. Self-starting personality, ability to work independently and with an even disposition. Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times. Can communicate well with guests. Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player. Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, crawling, walking, climbing of ladders, reading, and routinely lifting 25 lbs. to 75 lbs. Must be able to receive instructions and communicate progress of work assignments.

Every Crescent associate should adhere to the hotel security policies and procedures, particularly regarding key controls, lifting heavy objects, using chemicals, and effectively reporting safety hazards and safety concerns.
