As a Sr. HSE Manager - Occupational Health at Solstice Advanced Materials (SAM), you will oversee and direct the organization's occupational health and safety efforts. You will ensure the highest standards of health and safety for employees, compliance with occupational health regulations, and the implementation of best practices. You will report directly to the VP of HSE and work out of our Houston, TX or Geismar, LA location on a Hybrid schedule. Additional SAM sites may be considered.

You will develop and implement comprehensive occupational health programs, ensuring regulatory compliance and industry standards. Your collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders will integrate occupational health into business processes, supporting our reputation as a responsible and sustainable organization.

Note: In October 2024, Honeywell announced the spin-off of our Advanced Materials business to become a standalone publicly traded company. This role is dedicated to the Advanced Materials business and will be part of this future transaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Develop and implement occupational health strategies aligned with the organization's mission, fostering a safety culture.
  2. Oversee a team of contract occupational health professionals, ensuring effective practices.
  3. Ensure compliance with all relevant occupational health regulations, permits, and certifications.
  4. Stay updated on changing regulations and industry best practices.
  5. Develop proactive measures, training, and policies to prevent occupational illnesses and injuries.
  6. Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify hazards, providing solutions and preventive measures.
  7. Develop and maintain emergency response plans for occupational health incidents.
  8. Manage the occupational health budget, resources, and seek cost-effective solutions.
  9. Promote a culture of health and wellness through programs and initiatives.
  10. Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders for effective communication and training.
  11. Act as Subject Matter Expert in OSHA programs related to high hazard chemicals like Hydrofluoric acid.
  12. Support case management of injuries and workers' compensation claims.

Due to U.S. export control laws, candidates must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or have asylum/refugee status in the U.S.

REQUIREMENTS
  • 6+ years of experience in occupational health management
  • Deep knowledge of occupational health regulations and best practices
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and strategic planning abilities

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational health, public health, or related field
