About the Role :

As a CBRE Health, Safety and Environment Sr. Director, you will oversee the department responsible for creating and implementing health, safety, and environmental programs for clients.

This job is part of the Environment Health and Safety function. They are responsible for organizational programs and procedures to safeguard employees and surrounding communities

What You'll Do :

  • Provide formal supervision to employees. Monitor the training and development of staff. Conduct performance evaluations and coaching. Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees.
  • Coordinate and manage the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff.
  • Set and track staff and department deadlines. Mentor and coach as needed.
  • Approve all final playbook and procedure changes. Ensure Health, Safety, and Environmental initiatives drive program consistency and efficiency.
  • Develop strategic risk management strategies to avoid potential incidents.
  • Subject matter expert for government agencies, professional health, safety, and environmental organizations, etc.
  • Provide information to executive management about health, safety, and environmental issues, compliance, trends, performance, and concerns. Ensure all regulatory compliance needs are being met across all accounts.
  • Apply deep knowledge of multiple disciplines, broad industry knowledge, and commercial awareness. Drive financial and functional performance within disciplines and across business.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Negotiate with senior management, customers, and external parties of divergent interests to reach an agreement of strategic importance while being guided by the business segment and the organization's functional strategy.
  • Conceptualize new methods, techniques, processes, and standards across job disciplines or functions.
  • Direct the resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems by applying advanced critical thinking.

What You'll Need :

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 12-15 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention is preferred.
  • Ability to exchange sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and handle problems.
  • Leadership skills to motivate the team to achieve broad operational targets with impacts on own job discipline, multiple job disciplines, and department.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Expert organizational skills with an unrivaled inquisitive mindset.
  • Expert math skills. Ability to calculate complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financialrelated calculations.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the position is $160,000annually and the maximum salary for the position is $180,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE's applicable benefit program.
