Job Description Summary

In this role, you will act at the Site HR Leader for the Lafayette Engine Facility. You will foster a teaming culture and support a workforce of 250 GE employees. You will draw on your HR expertise in order to coach and influence the site and you will also be responsible for developing and implementing people strategies to ensure the site is positioned to meet growth demand over the next several years.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Provide HR leadership, for the Lafayette Engine Facility within a teaming culture and act as a member of the site leadership team.
  • Utilize Flight Deck to drive people strategies at the site and solve problems collaboratively across the site.
  • Support strategic planning and restructuring efforts and help shape site strategy, meet growth demand, and drive positive outcomes for the workforce.
  • Provide dedicated guidance and coaching to teams and employees with a specific focus on: employee advocacy/engagement, HR fundamentals and process training, employee relations management, performance management, career development, talent assessment, acquisition and retention and workplace investigations as appropriate
  • Demonstrate understanding of business cycle and industry trends and how they impact the company, business priorities and organizational dynamics
  • Provide teams and employees with an available first point of contact for questions and guidance on fundamental HR topics and issues; navigates employees to HR Shared Services or other functional experts when it is the more appropriate resource
  • Partner with the Site Leader, support team, councils and teams to execute business-specific HR strategies and serve as a functional expert with regard to HR topics
  • Align HR actions to support teaming environment and apply knowledge to offer solutions to achieve business objectives
  • Support hiring and recruiting efforts at the site to maintain a strong pipeline of technical talent. Facilitate site assessment process and candidate selection. Active involvement with new hire onboarding process.
  • Maintain a current Strategic Workforce Plan and use HR analytics to map attrition/hiring trends
  • Influence business leaders to implement actions that improve ER environment
  • Solicit and integrate others' ideas and input for change as appropriate; acts as coach for employees and leaders during change
  • Identify stakeholder perspective on change and where there is a need to influence for change


Qualifications/ Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in client facing Human Resource Management


Desired Characteristics:
  • Master's Degree in Human Resources, Industrial / Labor Relations, or Business Administration from an accredited college or university
  • Passionate, employee advocate who wants to make a difference in the organization by helping employees succeed
  • Demonstrated ability utilizing Flight Deck to deliver impact through problem solving.
  • Willingness to mentor and coach early career HR talent
  • Approachable and responsive resource able to connect with employees at all levels
  • Desires employee-facing work and is a strong active listener open to learning Strong customer service focus, with a high level of responsiveness
  • Supportive team player with a strong drive to create a positive work environment; ability to diffuse a tense situation
  • Applies solid judgment ensuring integrity, compliance, & confidentiality
  • Understanding of HR concepts and principles with expertise in a specialty area such as staffing, analytics, facilitation, etc.
  • Strong problem solving skills; ability to make independent decisions, manage conflicting priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Sound knowledge of local labor laws and government requirements
  • Detailed-oriented with excellent organizational & documentation skills


This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
