Job Description Summary

In this role, you will act as the Site HR Leader for the Lafayette Engine Facility. You will foster a teaming culture and support a workforce of 250 GE employees. You will draw on your HR expertise to coach and influence the site, and you will also be responsible for developing and implementing people strategies to ensure the site is positioned to meet growth demand over the next several years.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Provide HR leadership for the Lafayette Engine Facility within a teaming culture and serve as a member of the site leadership team.
  2. Utilize Flight Deck to drive people strategies at the site and solve problems collaboratively across the site.
  3. Support strategic planning and restructuring efforts, help shape site strategy, meet growth demand, and drive positive outcomes for the workforce.
  4. Provide dedicated guidance and coaching to teams and employees with a focus on employee advocacy/engagement, HR fundamentals and process training, employee relations management, performance management, career development, talent assessment, acquisition and retention, and workplace investigations as appropriate.
  5. Demonstrate understanding of business cycles and industry trends and their impact on the company, business priorities, and organizational dynamics.
  6. Provide teams and employees with an accessible first point of contact for questions and guidance on HR topics; direct employees to HR Shared Services or other experts when needed.
  7. Partner with the Site Leader, support teams, councils, and other teams to execute business-specific HR strategies and serve as a functional HR expert.
  8. Align HR actions to support a teaming environment and apply knowledge to offer solutions that achieve business objectives.
  9. Support hiring and recruiting efforts to maintain a strong pipeline of technical talent, facilitate site assessments, participate in candidate selection, and be involved in onboarding.
  10. Maintain a current Strategic Workforce Plan and use HR analytics to identify attrition and hiring trends.
  11. Influence business leaders to implement actions that improve the employee relations environment.
  12. Solicit and incorporate input from others for change initiatives; act as a coach during change processes.
  13. Identify stakeholder perspectives on change and where influence is needed.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in client-facing Human Resource Management.

Desired Characteristics:

  1. Master's Degree in Human Resources, Industrial / Labor Relations, or Business Administration from an accredited college or university.
  2. Passionate employee advocate committed to helping employees succeed.
  3. Ability to utilize Flight Deck to deliver impact through problem solving.
  4. Willingness to mentor and coach early career HR talent.
  5. Approachable and responsive, able to connect with employees at all levels.
  6. Strong active listening skills and a desire for employee-facing work.
  7. High customer service orientation and responsiveness.
  8. Supportive team player with a drive to create a positive work environment and ability to diffuse tense situations.
  9. Solid judgment ensuring integrity, compliance, and confidentiality.
  10. Understanding of HR concepts with expertise in areas like staffing, analytics, facilitation, etc.
  11. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  12. Knowledge of local labor laws and government requirements.
  13. Excellent organizational and documentation skills.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Final offers will depend on obtaining authorization for access from the U.S. Government for non-U.S. persons.
