Job summary

Gesa Credit Union in Washington state is seeking a Sr. Home Loan Processor to manage residential mortgage loan documentation, ensure conditions are met, and uphold guidelines. The role acts as a resource for other processors, answering questions, and training team members.

Responsibilities include coordinating appraisals, verifications, and disclosures, while collaborating with borrowers, loan officers, and operations staff to ensure accurate, timely closings and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of mortgage processing experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience processing Correspondent, FHA, and VA loans.
  • Proficient in calculating income for all income types including self-employment.
  • Proven success maintaining monthly pipeline goals.
  • Qualified in clearing final conditions on designated loans.
  • Expert experience with AUS, loan origination software and navigating vendor partner platforms.
  • Proficient with standard Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Order appraisals, title commitments, tax transcripts, income verifications, government case numbers, fraud, and compliance reports.
  • Coordinate communication with borrower(s), loan officers, realtors, vendors and Operations staff to provide status updates and outstanding items for a timely closing.
  • Review, collect, and fulfill underwriting conditions.
  • Evaluate appraisals, title policies, credit reports, and income verifications.
  • Identify potential fraud or misrepresentation by examining supporting documentation.
  • Prepare and deliver disclosures within regulatory guidelines based on changes in circumstance.
  • Coordinate loan closing, recording, and funding with escrow.
  • Review signed closing documents for accuracy and proper execution.
  • Prepare and disburse loan and perform post-closing responsibilities including package and ship investor loans.
  • Prioritize daily workload to meet timelines and lock expirations.
  • Maintain knowledge of all mortgage products and company policies.

Role Summary:

The Sr. Home Loan Processor position is responsible for ordering, gathering, reviewing, and preparing required loan documents for all residential mortgage loans. This includes ensuring all loan conditions are fulfilled, and the loan meets all credit union, regulatory, and secondary market guidelines. This position has expert, wide-ranging job knowledge and proven the ability to handle significant responsibilities in addition to the Loan Processor II role. This position acts as a resource for other Loan Processors; answering questions, acting as a mentor, and conducting training.

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Review loan application for accuracy, compliance, and completeness ensuring that all loans are prepared and processed to comply with regulatory, lending, investor and secondary market guidelines and policies.
  • Order appraisals, title commitments, tax transcripts, income verifications, government case numbers, fraud, and compliance reports.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with borrower(s), loan officers, realtors, vendors and Operations staff providing status updates and outstanding items to facilitate an organized, accurate, and timely closing.
  • Review, collect, and fulfill underwriting conditions.
  • Evaluate appraisals, title policies, credit reports, and income verifications.
  • Examine supporting documentation and investigate any inconsistencies to identify potential fraud or misrepresentation.
  • Ensure re-disclosures are prepared and delivered to the member within regulatory guidelines based on identified change in circumstance.
  • Prepare and deliver documents in an accurate and timely manner adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate loan closing, recording, and funding with escrow.
  • Review signed closing documents to ensure accuracy, proper execution, and completeness.
  • Prepare and disburse loan.
  • Perform post-closing responsibilities including package and ship investor loans.
  • Prioritize and monitor daily workload to meet company timeline expectations and lock expirations.
  • Meet minimum monthly goals established by management.
  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of all credit union mortgage products.
  • Control risk and perform duties in a safe and sound manner maintaining awareness of policies and regulations related to duties and responsibilities.
  • Understand and perform Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) functions applicable to job responsibilities.
  • Attend credit union training sessions, conferences, or seminars as approved by leadership.
  • Maintain a dependable record of attendance and commitment.
  • Maintain a professional, courteous, and friendly attitude and display mutual respect, trust and dignity while acting in the best interest of the credit union. Lead by example always displaying solid ethics and integrity.
  • Maintain and protect all sensitive data utilizing the highest standard of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Willingly perform other job-related projects and duties as assigned, self-initiating assistance and requesting assistance from team members when appropriate.

Full Salary Range:

  • Yakima, WA: $25.70-$42.83
  • Spokane, WA: $25.70-$42.83
  • Post Falls, ID: $25.70-$42.83
  • Vancouver, WA: $27.33-$45.56
  • While our full pay range is listed, most new team members typically start between the minimum and midpoint based on their experience and qualifications. This approach gives room to grow within the role as your career progresses with us!
