Job summary

SEH, an employee-owned engineering firm, is seeking an experienced highway engineer to join our Indiana practice. This role can be located in Munster, IN, surrounding areas, or remotely within Indiana, with a hybrid work option.

You will manage all phases of highway projects, from planning through construction, and mentor junior engineers. Ideal candidates hold a PE license in IN and have 12+ years in highway/transportation projects, including INDOT work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of IN.
• Strong experience managing highway and transportation projects, including planning, design and construction.
• Experience on INDOT projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases on highway projects including planning, design and construction.
• Develop creative solutions to complex challenges, working closely with our team of engineers, designers, and other professionals.
• Maintain close relationships with clients throughout development of projects and after completion, and help build and strengthen new client relationships.
• Provide valuable mentorship to junior engineers and designers.

This Opportunity

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of IN.
• Strong experience managing highway and transportation projects, including planning, design and construction.
• Experience on INDOT projects.

Preferred Qualifications

• A minimum of twelve (12) or more years of previous experience specializing in highway and transportation planning, design and construction.
• A minimum of five (5) years project management experience managing highway and transportation projects, including planning, design and construction.
• Knowledgeable of Indiana regional highway/transportation issues and familiarity with the municipal government client base.
• Previous experience in proposal and client management; demonstrated ability to develop new business opportunities and win project proposals.
• Must reside in the state of Indiana or surrounding areas.
• Ability to travel as needed for team meetings, client consultations, business development excursions, on-site inspections/visits, etc.
