Job summary

HCSC is seeking a policy-focused professional to support advocacy and public affairs initiatives, providing research and drafting briefing documents on health coverage legislation. The role requires a strong foundation in the legislative process and excellent written and verbal communication.

You will build and maintain relationships with advocates, colleagues, and stakeholders, represent the company on coalitions, and manage multiple projects with independent judgment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience in legislative and/or state agency work in the legislative process.
• Experience working with executive personnel.
• Project management experience and ability to handle multiple projects.
• Knowledge of State and local political and legislative processes.
• Verbal and written communication skills to include persuading policy makers; writing, editing, disseminating complex information in a clear, concise manner which is flexible to suit the needs of a diverse constituency.
• Independent judgment skills.
• PC proficiency to include Microsoft Word and internet based legislative tracking programs.

PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Healthcare industry and/or federal and state legislature or agency experience.
• Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations governing health insurance and group health plans.
• Juris Doctorate or Master’s in health policy, Public Policy, or equivalent degree.

Flex (Hybrid) role: 3 days in office; 2 days remote

Compensation: $102,000.00 - $184,300.00
