  • Drive cross‑team alignment on DfX standards, tools, and processes to reduce time‑to‑market and production costs.
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison between engineering and CM partners, ensuring robust design transfer, quality control, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain CM capability matrices, risk mitigation plans, and supplier performance dashboards.
  • Design and validate hardware platforms that support high‑volume, global‑scale production while meeting performance, safety, and compliance requirements.
  • Optimize bill‑of‑materials (BOM) and manufacturing processes for cost, quality, and sustainability.
  • Partner with Advanced Robotics, Systems Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to align hardware design with system‑level requirements and operational constraints.
  • Mentor and guide other engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
  • Lead investigations into production defects, yield issues, and field failures; implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Apply data‑driven methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, FMEA) to improve product reliability and manufacturability.
  • Identify and drive adoption of advanced manufacturing technologies (e.g., automation, AI‑driven testing) to enhance efficiency and quality.
  • Standardize test, inspection, and packaging processes across CM sites to ensure consistency.
  • Ensure all hardware designs comply with international safety, regulatory, and environmental standards (e.g., CE, FCC, RoHS).
  • Develop risk management frameworks to address design, manufacturing, and field‑service risks.
  • Contribute to the long‑term hardware strategy, evaluating emerging technologies and trends to future‑proof Amazon’s robotics portfolio.
  • Pilot and champion innovative DfX approaches (e.g., digital twins, generative design) to accelerate development cycles.

  • Experience developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures.
  • Experience solving complex hardware engineering problems.
  • Proficiency with multidisciplinary project teams executing product design from concept to production.
  • Experience managing technical projects and contracts with contract manufacturers.
  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent is preferred.
Benefits
  • Competitive base salary (USD 137,300 – 185,700 annually).
  • Sign‑on and restricted stock units (RSUs).
  • Health insurance, dental, vision, prescription coverage; life and AD&D insurance; supplemental life options.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP), mental health support, medical advice line.
  • Flexible spending accounts, adoption and surrogacy reimbursement coverage.
  • 401(k) matching, paid time off, parental leave.
