Qualifications

• 2–5 years related experience, preferably in a publicly held company.

• Strong cost and inventory accounting experience.
• Prior public accounting experience preferred.
• Knowledge of current GAAP; CPA experience a plus; knowledge of Progress/MXP/HP5000 and Hyperion Essbase software a plus.
• Track record of procedural and efficiency improvements.
• Advanced Excel and comfort with other MS Office programs.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent collaboration with departments and external auditors.
• Solid organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks, priorities and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for monthly financial statement close (various journal entries; account reconciliations; monthly close coordination).
• Create/post adjusting journal entries and GL account reconciliations in accordance with GAAP requirements.
• Assist in preparing quarterly consolidation / reporting packages for parent company.
• Assist in preparing quarterly audit schedules for quarterly review and year-end external audit.
• Responsible for fluctuation analysis on monthly / quarterly basis, work with departments to identify and explain variances.
• Provide written and verbal summaries of analytical research to departments and management as required.
• Respond to questions from internal departments and external auditors.
• Develop and maintain effective, professional and respectful working relationships.
• Assist in preparing schedules for allocating budget and actual expenses (pension, insurance, etc.).
• Responsible for multiple ledger account reconciliations and resolution of reconciliation issues.
• Participate in a wide variety of projects; show up on time and be ready to work your regularly scheduled hours.
