What We're Looking For:

Barge Design Solutions, Inc is seeking a GIS Specialist to join the Innovation Solution Center (ISC). The GIS Specialist will contribute to the Barge Innovation Solution Center Team with responsibilities including:

• Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and designers to implement spatial solutions and modern GIS practices into deliverables.
• Analyzing geospatial data to support various client projects.
• Providing guidance and expertise to staff.

Responsibilities:

• Engaging stakeholders to document project requirements.
• Managing spatial datasets from diverse sources.
• Conducting geospatial analyses for project planning and implementation.
• Creating maps, graphics, and visualizations for clients.
• Collaborating on GIS deliverables with project teams.
• Staying updated on GIS technologies and trends.
• Contributing to the improvement of the firm's GIS capabilities.

Education & Experience Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geospatial Science, or related field.
• At least 2 years of experience as a GIS Specialist or Analyst.
• Familiarity with spatial data management and analysis techniques.
• Ability to translate complex geospatial data into insights.
• Experience with GIS data integration in project workflows.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Experience with stakeholder engagement.
• Proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS software and extensions.
• Skills in spatial data manipulation, geoprocessing, and analysis.
• Ability to create maps, visualizations, and dashboards.
• Experience with databases and spatial data management.
• Knowledge of remote sensing, LiDAR, and data collection methods.
• Understanding of cartography and data standards.
• Coding skills (Python, R, JavaScript) are a plus but not required.
• Knowledge of hosting, network protocols, and system architecture.
• Familiarity with Asset Management principles and CMMS systems.
• Comfort with CAD, BIM, and related software.
