Job summary

V Group Inc. in Towson, MD seeks a Senior GIS Programmer / Systems Analyst to develop and support GIS applications within an Enterprise GIS environment, focusing on modernization of a critical Agricultural Preservation Model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 3+ years with ESRI ArcGIS technologies including ArcGIS Server, APIs, and ArcSDE.
• Experience with ArcGIS Model Builder and Python.
• Strong SQL knowledge including triggers and stored procedures.
• Experience with SSRS and Power BI reporting.
• Relational databases knowledge; Oracle or SQL Server preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Client is seeking a qualified Senior GIS Programmer / Systems Analyst to perform application development and support activities for the Office of Information Technology's GIS Program and the Office of Planning. The selected candidate will assist with the upgrade and development of an Agricultural Preservation Model, including upgrading the existing custom ArcMap AddIn developed using C#/Python to an ArcGIS Pro AddIn.

Responsibilities:

• Perform GIS application development within an Enterprise GIS environment.
• Support the upgrade and development of the Agricultural Preservation Model.
• Assist with modernization of the existing ArcMap AddIn (C#/Python) to an ArcGIS Pro AddIn.
• Perform application code development, modification, and enhancements.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation.
• Participate in application planning and development activities.
• Perform database development and support activities.
• Support GIS application development and integration activities.
• Work with GIS technologies and enterprise GIS infrastructure to support business and operational requirements.
• Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve application issues.
• Provide technical support for GIS applications and related systems.
• Develop reports and data visualizations as required using reporting and analytics tools.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred
• Minimum 3 years of experience working with ESRI ArcGIS technologies, including:
• ArcGIS Server
• ArcGIS APIs
• ArcSDE
• Experience with ArcGIS Model Builder and Python.
• Strong knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL), including triggers and stored procedures.
• Experience developing reports using SSRS and Power BI.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases and database concepts.
• Experience with Oracle and/or SQL Server preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Five years of experience in systems analysis, change management analysis, project management, program analysis, or a closely related field.
• Recent experience working with a government entity.
